The course is fairly maintained with the exception of plugged greens. They were almost impossible to putt. Golfers are herded thru like cows to slaughter. Ranger never leaves you alone. All I heard was "Hurry Up". If you like this type play go for it. There are 3 courses in this group whic also includes The Wizard and The Witch. The Wizard somewhat better but there greens also sucked. Now the Witch was the best of the 3. I played it first and this is by far the best of the 3. Very challeging but fair and the greens were perfect.

We played Man-O-War on 10/26 as our first in the series of 3 sister courses (Witch and Wizard round out the trio). We had the misfortune of finding a bad weather day and spent most of our time trying to stay dry (our golf balls actually fared better than we did). Man-O-War is hyped as "rising from the depths" to form island fairways and greens. In actuality, water played a very small role on this course. If you are to look at the course from an aerial view (like on the website) it looks like it's everywhere,.. and it is,'s just not really in play all that much. Other than the weather, the real test for us was the greens. They were in excellent shape, as was most of the course, but we couldn't help but 3 putt them. Of the three courses, Man-O-War is the most mundane, but it's still a nice play.

Played 8/9/09 and the course was in great shape. The greens showed some signs of traffic and the fairways were a little shaggy, but conditions were perfect otherwise. Greens were very receptive which was good since you have to carry the ball all the way to most of them. Layout is great with a lot of water, but is still very playable as long as isn't too windy. We played early on a sunday morning and got on the course 30 min ahead of our tee time and finished under 4 hrs. I'd say regular prices are fair for what you get, but they offer some great discounts if taken advantage of, that make this course a great value.

Played this Spring of 2008. The course was in good condition, easy, and overall was an OK experience.

The staff Sucked. The Bag guy started out by causing all sorts of trouble because we weren't on the tee at the tee time. Although he knew we were on the range, and they were backed up 3 slots he tried to push us back in line, was rude, obnoxious, and confrontational. (Dino was his Namo). When speaking to the course manager on the subject we were told that "gee, Dino is normally a nice guy".

Thank goodness the groups pushed up in front of us were decent folks and let us back in our slot or the day would have been totally ruined. As it was we teed off 15 minutes late in our origional slot and there was no need for the rudeness of the staff.

Overall the course played well but for the money there are much better courses in Myrtle that have staff that are cordial and polite.

One of my favorite courses while in Myrtle Beach. Great par 3s and alot of water. Can be a ball eater if you spray the ball but great course to play. Well maintained.

Probably the best-conditioned course that I've played in the MB area. Lots of water. Back-to-back island greens. A fun course to play for all skill levels. Staff was very friendly, and its central location is an easy drive from anywhere along the strand.

LOTS of water

If you fear water, grow a set and play here anyhow.... Played here with a coupon made this even more awesome for the price we payed. Will definately be returning here again! Everything is beautifully maintained here. Hard to judge the greens here in the morning due to the dew. Makes for really slow putts.
