First Look: PXG Mustang ZT Putter
PXG's fourth ZT putter has arrived. Check out our first impressions.

PXG doesn’t do much quietly. With its fourth zero torque putter release in 14 months, PXG is not-so-quietly planting its flag (one of them, at least) in the zero torque putter category.
The Oct. 16, 2025 release of the PXG Mustang ZT adds yet another shape for zero torque putter shoppers to consider. It also gives PXG four distinct shapes within its ZT lineup.
Let’s take a closer look.
What Does the PXG Mustang ZT Bring to the Table?

Release Date: Oct. 16, 2025
Price: $449
Shape: Blade-style
We have to start with the design, because the Mustang ZT has a unique shape. It’s sort of a blade-style putter, but the perimeter is flattened and the face plateaus out of the sole like a desert mesa.
The Mustang ZT also features PXG’s ultra-thin face, backed by its S-COR polymer. The 0.055-inch face allows PXG to redistribute weight to the perimeter for added forgiveness.
We have not tested the Mustang ZT, but we have tested two other PXG zero torque putters with PXG's S-COR polymer. In addition to providing weight-saving ability, that S-COR polymer delivers a super soft feel at impact in the other PXG zero torque putters we have tested first hand.
The Mustang ZT gets its zero torque profile from PXG’s S-hosel, the same design used in its three previous zero torque putters. PXG also equipped the Mustang ZT with its Pyramid Face Pattern, which is designed to reduce skid and create a smoother roll.
Given that the Mustang ZT uses the same thin face, S-COR polymer, and Pyrimad Face Pattern as other PXG ZT putters we've tested, we expect that it delivers a soft feel and muted sound at impact.

PXG Hellcat ZT Review: The Zero Torque Putter for the Masses
Our Take: Initial Impressions

Again, we haven’t tested the Mustang ZT, but we have tested each of the three previous zero torque putters from PXG: the Allan, Bat Attack ZT, and the Hellcat ZT. There are plenty of features that carry over from those putters into this Mustang.
The Mustang ZT delivers a very distinct design, but it also fills a gap. It's the first blade-style putter in PXG's ZT lineup that includes the S-COR polymer, which brings a uniqely soft feel. PXG's other blade-style zero torque putter, the Hellcat ZT, is a solid-bodied putter that feels significantly firmer at impact.

Who Is It For?
The Mustang is not a new shape in the PXG lineup. PXG first introduced a Mustang putter in 2021, this new Mustang ZT is simply the zero torque version of that familiar head.
The Mustang ZT offers more forgiveness than you’d expect from a putter with a smaller footprint. Meanwhile, that design allowed PXG engineers to move the hosel closer to the face as well, a more familiar position for most players.
The hollow-bodied design also creates room for tungsten weights in the toe and heel, which help boost forgiveness.
With all that in mind, the PXG Mustang ZT is ideal for players who prefer a smaller head shape without sacrificing too much forgiveness. It also suits players who prefer a softer feel at impact.
