Finally, an affordable zero torque putter that looks great, and performs.

PXG dropped its Hellcat ZT putter on July 17, 2025, and it’s the most appealing zero torque putter for the masses to date.

I tested the Hellcat ZT and found this putter extremely easy to use. From inside of six feet, I felt like I couldn’t miss. It’s also easy to look at, with the sophisticated gun metal finish and traditional blade shape.

As with testing any new putter, it took me a few minutes to get a grasp on distance control from mid to long range, but it wasn’t long before putts from that range were incredibly comfortable as well. I even tested this putter through the fringe, and it rolled nicely through the turf.

FIND AT PXG
Price: $249
Head: Solid bodied

Pros:

  • Sophisticated gun metal finish is very appealing
  • One of the most traditional-looking blade shaped zero torque putters available
  • Very easy to use in our testing
  • The firmer feel compared to PXG’s other ZT putters was a welcome change
  • Premium magnetic headcover included
  • Easily the best value zero torque putter available

Cons:

  • Players who prefer the softest-feeling putter possible should consider other options

The Hellcat ZT is a Metal Injection Molded (MIM) solid-bodied putter made of 303 stainless steel. That gives it a noticably firmer feel than PXG's other ZT putters, which are hollow-bodied heads injected with PXG's S-COR polymer.

PXG put its signature Pyramid Face Pattern on the Hellcat ZT which is designed to interact with the dimples on the golf ball to produce consistent roll.

The Hellcat ZT comes standard with a stepless steel shaft at 34-inches long. You can upgrade to a PXG M16 putter shaft in either black or chrome for an extra $99.

PXG also allows you to have your Hellcat ZT built with up to two degrees of loft or lie adjustment in either direction from standard, and to adjust the length.

The stock Hellcat technically has 4 degrees of loft, but with 1 degree of forward shaft lean built into the grip, it functions as a standard 3-degree putter.

PXG’s other Zero Torque putters, the Allan and the Bat Attack ZT, feature an incredibly soft feel. I was expecting the same thing from this Hellcat, but what I got instead was a noticeably firmer feel and a nice sound.

The Allan and Bat Attack ZT use PXG’s S-COR polymer behind the face, which really dampens the feel. Those are easily the two softest putters I’ve ever tested.

It took one stroke with the Hellcat to notice that something’s different. With a solid-bodied head, the Hellcat clearly has a firmer, and if you ask me, much more pleasing, feel at impact.

The Hellcat ZT is not just a blade-style version of PXG’s other ZT putters, the Allan and the Bat Attack. Yes, it is a blade-style putter and takes advantage of PXG’s S-hosel for a zero torque profile. But with this really nice gun metal finish, solid-bodied head, and minimal aesthetic, this putter will appeal to players who like a traditional look in their putter.

The Hellcat rounds out PXG’s lineup of ZT putters, which now include a blade, fang, and traditional mallet. But at just $249, the Hellcat is $200 cheaper than the other putters in PXG’s ZT lineup. That also makes it the best-priced zero torque putter we’ve seen, and easily the best value zero torque putter.
