I LOOOOOVED IT because if one of the most FUN 9 holes executive length courses I have played because you will use all the clubs, you can create different strategies on the par 4s (driver? 3 wood? etc) and feel like a "real one" even if you are a beginner golfer.

On the dog left #5 a huge bunker is in the middle of the fairway on a perfect 220/250 carry landing area... what to do? up to you!

#6 is calling your big boy-driver out of the bag as the Mermaids with Ulysses, but if you don't hit it straight you are on the rocks! Put on some wax earplugs like the ancient hero and use your fairway/utility...

If you can work the ball left to right with a nice leg #8 is your hole. You have a power draw? #2 will allow you to bomb it with no to much trouble

The scenery is beautiful, very green and shady for Los Angeles standards; the course condition is good in the so on the greens.

Prize is SUPER Right. I played there only once and I can't wait to go back to LA and have another round.

Awesome course, different kinds of hazards, like coyotes, bees, and nats, makes it a challenge. truly amazing scenery, and for the price, its a true bargain.

I have always been fond of this course. Hole #2 is a long, hilly par 4 with a challenging green placement. Hole #8 has a nice view of the observatory - and the par 3 hole #7 has a nasty, nasty sandtrap that makes the word "hazard" quite fitting compared to some of the more finely raked, low-walled traps.

Being a beginner golfer, i loved the course... its a great course to improve on. There are golfers of all different levels but all make you feel very welcome. Prices are great, especially twilight.. overall great course

Great Course

Just finished playing this course. Very fun 9 hole course. With enough distance on par 4's to make it challenging. As an intermediate golfer I really loved it. Scenery was amazing as on some holes you have a great view of the downtown skyline and the grifith observatory.

Roosevelt is simply the best 9 hole course anywhere near or in Los Angeles. The course allows you to play every club in your bag in under two hours (well, usually, at the right time of day, OK, it's a little slow at times, but it's fine, you will ALWAYS wait at the 6th hole because so many jackasses think they will drive the green until they miss and land somewhere on Commonwealth Ave.)

There are opportunities to swing away with your driver and to finesse around the greens. I can not express what a great short round this is, but it's not a 'short' course. Go, Go, GO!

From the teebox, the 6th hole green is framed by trees and the dowtown will have time to enjoy the view from the tee. The 8th tee features an incredible view (possible my favorite in Los Angeles) of the newly renovated Griffith Observatory. There are deer, coyotes, hawks, bunnies & squirrels...

All for $11 during the week! In the Summer twilight is something ridiculous like $6.50 - absolutely worth it for a quick after work round.

Get a city card and make waiting at Roosevelt!

Eat the breakfast burrito!

Beautiful course

There is however one downside. Since it's beautiful and cheap(er) there's a lot more players, and among those players beginners. Beware of them specially on the 6th hole.
