Played it for the first time this afternoon. Kind of crowded, but we teed off pretty quickly after arriving. Your basic pitch and putt. Can't be beat for $5.

Great place for short game practice. Harder than your average course, because of the many trees and less than the best rough quality. Best value for your dollar in LA.

I haven't played on this course recently, but branches were a huge problem on a couple of the holes many years back. From the satellite picture, I can tell this is still a problem. Note the holes in the North areas. One of them is totally covered by trees. You end up having to punch the ball low and fast if you want a good shot, but the tree branches are quite high and usually do not interfere unless you have forced the use of a 9 iron for the whole course. The idea is to make the course challenging, and some people think it's just poor maintenance. It's not. The trees were part of the original design; they are large, old, huge trees. We're talking "wow, that's a big old tree!" sort of big, here. I recommend using a 3 or 2 wood. So don't take the advice that you'll need only some high-loft irons - you need a few tricks on this course if you want to shoot under par. Most of the holes are pretty straight forward and pleasurable, and it's so cheap to play! Why wouldn't you stop here?

Cheap course

You get what you pay for... as simple as that...

Not a bad place to tune up your short game.

You only need your 9, PW, SW and putter in this course. But don't count solely on it to improve your game.
