5 Best Phoenix and Scottsdale Area Golf Courses

By Ryan Watson

Best Phoenix Scottsdale Golf Courses

The dry desert environment of the Phoenix/Scottsdale area seems an odd place to find world class golf courses, but with modern technology, central Arizona has become one of the nation's premier golf destinations.

Full of challenging courses and beautiful views of desert, canyons, and mountains, the Phoenix/Scottsdale area is easily accessible by the Sky Harbor International Airport.  Come enjoy the sunshine and mild winters at these top-ranked courses that are available for all golfers.

Any list of courses in the Phoenix and Scottsdale region has to include the site of the Phoenix Open, the TPC Scottsdale. Home to the best attended golf tournament, this course features many interesting holes. While not boasting the same beautiful views as the other courses on this list, the TPC Scottsdale course is a must for fans of the PGA Tour who want their own chance to play the same course as the pros.

Located in the town of Maricopa, the Southern Dunes Golf Club might be overlooked by golfers visiting the region. But for those who know, the 7,300 yard course boasts one of the best courses in the area. Even better, Southern Dunes is much cheaper than its Phoenix and Scottsdale counterparts.
