I used to belong to this course but had to move. I highly recommend this course. Great course, lots of fun, and it never got old.

I play this course every year as part of the Member - Guest tournament and really enjoy it. If you keep your ball in play, then the course difficulty is greatly reduce (isn't it always?). But if you start going off-line, the course is very penal. The rough is long and thick, grwatly incrfeasing the challenge of the course.

The greens are usually fast and slippery. The only "low spots" on the course for me are 14 and 15, which seem to be fairly uninspired, standard Par 4 holes.

The 18th hole is a spectacular Par 5.

Highly recommended course.

to TSPink: "...I cannot catch him to ask him to pay for the damages he caused."

While I agree with you, the thing to do is at least apologize for hitting your house, the golfer is under NO obligation to pay for any broken windows or siding or anything. by living on the golf course, it is an inherent risk that your house will get hit. The HOA states this as does the rule of law. Most golfers will pay a part or most of the cost of the damage, but it cannot be expected.

As for houses in play, holes, 7,8,9,11,12 & 14 have houses that get in regularly!

I think the previous review is more about the players than the course. Piedmont is a typical Fazio layout with wide fairways and tough approach shots. The conditioning is superb and the staff is extraordinarily friendly.

The club has one of the better golfing memberships in the area--with plenty of players around scratch or below. As for the borken windows, most of the homes at Piedmont are well out of the line of play. With the exception of one hole (number 7--houses encroach on the right side), it takes a very poorly struck shot to hit a house.

unprofessional players and staff

I live on this course and expect to have balls in the yard and the occasional broken window. However, this year alone I have had 4 broken windows without a single note from the player. Occasionally, I have seen the golfer fly by in the cart and skip the rest of the hole so that I cannot catch him to ask him to pay for the damages he caused. The management states that the golfers only responsibility is to yell "fore". From my experience, this course attracts irresponsible players just out for the occasional game. Definately not a course for the serious player who wants to play what has historically been known as a "gentleman's game". If management is not helpful in this situation, I can only assume that the irresponsibility goes deeper than just the individual player. Choose a better course if you want a serious game.
