Great course . Wonderful staff! Nice facility. Good golf community that comes here. come and play you'll have a great time.!!!
Fun 9 hole course tucked not far off 395. Not too long, but pretty tight on a few holes. You'll get to play most all clubs in your bad though, driver included. It's kept in pretty good condition.
If you need a quick round of golf, this is the place to be. Very nice 9-hole muni course near Washington, DC. Always in good shape most of the time. Low handicappers need no driver here but bring your short game. Accuracy is a must, short holes but narrow fairways, needless to say it's a challenging course. Friendly staff. This is a must play golf course. In response to dufferson's review: fyi, most golf courses closes at dusk, and if you play twilight, you're not expected to finish the round most of the time - thus 'twilight rate' and you can barely see the ball anyway. I beg to disagree about the staff, i played here numerous times but never encountered an unfriendly staff, always had a great time.
i've played every course around northern va. this was by far the worst. i am a polite and respectful golfer but that doesn't matter to the staff at pinecrest. first off it's 9 holes and hardly worth the money because of draconinian rule enforcement... it's a 9 hole muni not augusta. second of all they have a policy that forces you to leave the course when it gets a little dark which i have NEVER encountered before. rangers actually come out and tell you to leave in the middle of your hole = INTOLERABLE. we were on hole 7 and they made us leave because they wanted to go home i guess? 'did i just pay full green fee price and get 7 holes??" of course i didn't argue so now i am getting a little payback here. hardly good consumer friendly. seems like they are really into themselves, play else where. this course is 'play it once and never go back'
This is a good 9 hole to play to increase your skills.
Leave driver or even 3 wood in your car! Other than being short, nice layout and quick round off of beltway.
While a nice enough looking course, I walked out after three holes. No range, only hitting cages and a putting green. First three holes, the edges of the cups had been broken off. Waited on every swing, not every hole, fivesomes, rangers spending more time chipping balls than speeding up play or getting in their free round before starting their volunteer work. Never saw so many handicap flags on carts ever, slow slow slow slow. Backed up, stacked up. Have I mentioned slow? Short par 4, with foursome on green, twosome waiting in various parts of fairway, foursome waiting on tee. Will not go back, will not recommend to friends
Really fun 9 hole public course. The 9 hole length is enough to consistently challenge me, but not long enough to really frustrate me. And its close to work.
Good nine hole courseRepeat after me, "Number 2 is a par 4, not a par 3!" This would be a great course to play a quick nine hole on if you didn't have to always wait for some clown on the second hole waiting for the green to clear so he can go for it, then loose his ball because the green punishes these idiots by not giving them a safe place to fail. Number 6 is a beautiful hole.
GREAT 9 HOLE COURSE!!!Played it for the 1st time and it was great. I thought that it would be very short and simple being a course in the middle of a city, but there are several long holes and probably 7 or 8 holes are very challenging.
