Fountain Springs is a nice little 9 hole course. Playing right off the interstate it probably gets a lot of use in the summer months. I played in July of '12 early on a Monday morning and it appeared there was a tournament over the weekend because the greens were littered with ball plug marks. The greens are medium sized with plenty of tiers and slopes to them. The fairways are narrow but are kept in great shape.
The course offers many signs for yardage and tee box locations. Hole #4 is a severe dogleg left, accidentally playing the 5th green is not out of the possibility (due to the layout of the hole itself).
Favorite holes were 5,6,& 9. The 9th green is almost a complete island and is very sloped. A great finishing hole. Drinking water on the course in several locations. A must play in Rapid City.
