How anyone can rate this course anything less than 5 stars in any category is beyond me! Probably the most scenic course I have ever played on in my life. The attention to detail on the holes has to be seen to be believed!

The drive coming onto the course with the mossy oaks hanging is breathtaking. The staff are top notch and course is always in superb condition.
The course offers a little something for everyone. It does require some shot making. If you are the type of golfer who pulls driver on every par 4 no matter what, you will be in for a challenge. If you play smart golf, the course is quite manageable from the right set of tees. Check your ego at the clubhouse and play smart golf, and you will enjoy yourself greatly.
I cannot say enough great things about this course. There is a reason it is one of the top ranked courses at Myrtle Beach.
Having said that, be prepared- It is not cheap, and it is crowded. They do double tee to accomodate all, but time wise its about average with any other course. There are rangers to keep things moving, but they are not obnoxious, just doing their job.
If you are in Myrtle, it is a must play!

Since I moved to the Myrtle Beech area I have been playing courses in North Myrtle Beach. This is one of the best tracks in the Myrtle Beech area, so I have been told. After playing with 23 other friends from S.E Penna we all agreed that this was one of the best courses we ever booked. Unfortunately everyone agreed that it was one of the most disappointing customer service experiences we have had on our golf package trips. We did show up right at our scheduled tee time and you might have thought we broke a golden rule of golf. we were rushed out onto the course in the FOG at different hole locations to start our round. My group started on 2 (par 5)and we finished it at 7.51 am. Our tee times were from 7.30 to 7.48. so really how late were we. 4-6 minutes. at the 10th hole we found ourselves behind golfers starting on the back 9. That is were the round really slowed down. None of our 24 man group was able to play all 18 holes. Everyone agreed to play only up North Myrtle Beech area in the future were they recognize the value of a customer.

I love this course. I put it in my top 10, probably top 5 I have ever played. It's just such a great, well thought out layout. If you are a high handicaper, it is not too difficult. If you are a low handicapper and go all the way back, you can still be challengd. Many of the holes have good risk/reward decisions to make. It has always been in very good shape when I have played. Pulling in and driving under the oaks covered with Spanish moss is a treat too. The back deck overlooking 18 is a great spot to hang out after a round. No homes on the course is just great. Many memorable holes.

I do have one complaint. The ninth hole just seems forced, like it was an afterthought. For such a nice course, it just seems odd to turn the corner on a little rinky dink 90-100 yard par 3. If they could ever find a way to change that (I forget if there is room), I think it would be an improvement.

This is a great course. The greens had just been airified, but still in good shape. The fairways were fantastic. The location is really nice. The layout is no difficult but fun to play. Some unique holes. Would recommend and only wish I could have done the fish fry.

Beautiful course that rewards you for accuracy and does not always require a long ball hitter to score well. Several holes do have water and/or sand close to the green. It is very challenging.

This course as a group of 4 of us was by far our favorite course in Myrtle Beach. Definately a must play and would play it again. Correct on playing the right tees for your handicap will definately make this course enjoyable for all handicappers.

This course is really great how its laid out. While not overly long, the layout is challenging. The greens rolled very well, not too fast.

Well worth the time to play.

Caledonia - MUST PLAY

I've played Pebble, RTJ, The Dunes Club, Spyglass, Sawgrass, Teeth of the Dog, Troon North and many other top notch courses and Caledonia may be the best of them all. Incredibly manicured, wonderful greens, absolutely beautiful - a Mike Strantz masterpiece. This is truly a must play on the Grand Stand.
