Played there today. Gentlemen at the pro shop super nice. $48 for senior and regular to ride. Nice little driving range. Putting green is just like the greens, pretty fast. Electric carts are a big plus. Concrete sidewalk for cart paths that are super nice. They even have spots to pull off beside the greens and tee boxes so others can pass.

Very well marked and maintained. Slicers have the advantage on the front, 3 dogleg rights and if you hit a draw, you will have the advantage on the back 9, 3 dogleg lefts.

Some things that stood out:
Front nine: pretty open
4 - when you are in front of the sand/hazard area to approach the green, shot is a little blind, fun hole.
7 - tough par 5, followed by an easy par 5.
9 - don't try to cut the corner

Back nine: changes in elevation
10 - don't be short or you are rolling down the hill!
12 - Downhill par 3, very scenic
14 - Aim down the right side of the tree line to get on the fairway
16 - Favorite hole, there is a hazard just short of the green that you can't see, you need a good tee shot and a don't be short to the green, when it doubt, lay up, take your bogey, and save your ball. It won't get me next time.
17 - over the pond is probably 100 yards, bunkers on either side of the fairway demand you hit it straight too.
18 - plays longer than yardage, same as 16, good tee shot and then don't be short to the green with your iron. Seems like the wind blows straight across the road from the clubhouse.

In general, the front and back are almost like 2 different courses. The back 9 is a lot of fun and challenging. The front kind of makes you confident. Anyway, you should definitely play there. I could see the front being a little hazardous on a busy day, but the back nine is really nice.

Big pro shop and clubhouse, beginner course looks great. Course is well cared for, definitely going again.

I don't know why but I love this course. I think everyone has a course that just suits their game and their eye and for me this is it. The wide open front is very forgiving (again with a few exceptions) and the back is a little tighter and more challenging. Its always been in great shape everytime I've been there. I also like the length of the course. It causes me to use every club in the bag and as I said before is often forgiving of mishits with clubs you're not used to. Lots of value options (love the 3 hole fee!). Give this course a chance and I think you'll be surprised at how much fun it is!

A relatively new course which is pretty wide open. It's a good course but you tend to have to wait before you hit your next ball. I can't really complain about this course because you usually wait for the people in front of you at most golf courses. It's not my favorite course to go too, but it's always an option.

Went here 2 times and never again. First time was not so bad. Had a slow group in front of us but still managed to finish the round in 4 hours and 20 minutes. Second time was a different story. First of all we teed off at 3:24. The group that teed off at 3:08 consisted of 6 people and 2 people were sharing clubs. The club sharing people were booted around hole 3. The rest of the group decided to binge drink the rest of the round. We waited on the tee box and then fairway and then green at every hole for these people to get out of the way. Would not let us play through either. They damaged the greens with the flag sticks at the last 6 holes. They would hit the far ball first and drive back to hit the others. We complained when we finished the round after 5 hours and 15 minutes but it fell on deaf ears. The said you should have called us. No offer on refund. Stated we would not come back after this experience. Never had this problem at Range End, Mayapple, Valley Greem, or Dauphin Highlands. STAY AWAY

Angela - Your comments are inappropriate and misleading. I spent hours on emails and phone calls with leading the organization of the day. Yes, we had a morning outing and an afternoon outing that day-- both had less than 64 players -- the majority of the golf carts were parked by 12:30 and yes, a few straggled in but all were in place by 1pm. There were two individuals - not part of the committee but part of the golfer group who were very vocal and did not like "our" outing procedures -they did not want to follow the organization and we did offer solutions. One individual was disrespectful to the point of changing the cart line-up to suit their needs. Again, when you play golf at any golf course, you follow their rules and organization. If you want to make your own rules, you can buy a golf course and implement them. One of my staff members received a $10.00 tip from a gentleman playing in the golf outing; he could not believe the disrespectful comments from one individual for the entire registration process! That is definitely the first! As far as the food goes... we upgraded the event to the indoor banquet room at NO EXTRA CHARGE...this alone is a 150.00 dollar donation RVG made to the Children's Miracle Network. We also allowed the donation of watermelon and cake --- at no extra cost to the organization --- we refrigerated the cake and watermelon at no extra cost. We allowed the donation of water and soda at no extra cost. For your one "bad" experience as a player of the golf outing..not a committee member... i can give you 1000 others that have been happy with their outing results. Its a shame that you had to put in an inappropriate review... but there is no way that i will allow a lie to be posted.

This is the first time I have played here. Course was in very good condition, and the price was great. (Well worth the trip up I81 from Hagerstown. The only downside, there were quite a few twosomes & threesomes which slowed down play.(Five hour round is way to long).

The greens are like putting on concrete. You can hit way in front and the ball will roll to the back every time. Also, do no book an outing at this course. They doublebooked the same day as our outing. Our registration was at 12:30 with a 1:30 shotgun start. They did not have any carts available at 12:30 and did not have all the carts available for our outing until 1:15. When complaints were registered, the customers were treated terribly and were harassed by the manager for questioning his methods, of lack thereof, of providing carts. Then, it came time for dinner, which was hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, chips and watermelon. A little over half the players went through the line which consisted of burgers, dogs, and about a half bowl of chips. When this group was just about done eating, the pasta salad and watermelon were then brought out. Despite the manager's claim that they have run many outings and know exactly what to do, this was easily the most disorganized outing that I have ever attended.

We played here on 9/16/07. course is well maintained and is a good course for beginners and advanced players; speed of play was good to excellent with little or no wating between holes. Staff was very cordial, friendly and helpful. Serious recommendation: some greens and next tees are very close together. BE ALERT for incoming mishit shots between holes, as you can very easily get hit! I was!

Originally rated this course poorly due to course conditions. I decided to give it another try this year and I'm glad I did. What a turn around. Greens, Fairways, and Tees are in great condition. Electric carts, driving range, courtesy cart, bar/restaurant, good quality drinking water throughout are a real plus.

Nice course, not much trouble.

The course is maintained nicely. It is hard to lose a ball on the front nine. The course is great for all skill levels.

A wide open course with little trouble to find...a good course to "pick up your game". Errant shots are not as costly here although there are some trees on the back nine. The greens on the front nine have some slope to them. The signature hole in my opinion (and it's the one you can see from I-81) is the par 5 7th which is rated the 2nd most difficult on the course. The staff was friendly and I enjoyed a good score here so not a bad place for a little less challenge.

Great

This course is a gem. Two different nines. Plays a little harder than it looks.

Very open

I played this course a few times this year, and overall I found it to be in good condition. It is a very wide open course, and the greens are reasonably easy as well. This is course that you can really score well on. If you want to play a fun course, then this would be a good one to try at least once.
