Usually well maintained greens and fairways, ruff could use some reseeding. A lot of players lack course edict and won't repair their divots or ball marks. Nice to see more new tees being built, but still would be cheaper to re-level existing tee boxes. Personnel could be more customer friendly. Caddy shack is excellent: personnel, food, and MGT try to excel at customer service. Restaurant is very crowded for that reason, Deck packed on weekends.

Agree with other golfers that the course is short and tight, but well maintained. Enjoyable round of golf. Shot a 78. Played most of the front 9 from the trees. I did not agree with the previous comment about the customer service. We were treated very well. Especially after the round in the restaurant. The food was very good and at a reasonable price.

Yes, Armitage is a nice course. But after the way I was treated when trying to a book a tee time for this weekend, I will never play there again. I know it can get busy there and move pretty slow sometimes, so I asked how far apart their tee-times were, just curious about how busy I could expect it to be. The reply I got (in a huffy voice) was "I have no idea, but I am pretty busy right now, buddy, I gotta go." Buddy? Really? The staff at Armitage need to get over themselves. There are much nicer courses in the area, especially for the cost, and I promise that all will treat you better than Armitage.

Although I have only played this course once on a Saturday, I would recommend playing it during the week. My foursome spent almost as much time waiting for the threesome in front of us as we did playing. By the fifth tee, the foursome behind us was complaining. Eventually the marshal had us moving smoothly, but a 3-hour round was almost 5! The pro shop was decent and the food was great at the clubhouse restaurant.

Beautiful tight course, in great shape. Challenging layout. Not as long as some other courses in the area but fun all the same. Price of a public course but looks and plays like a nice country club.

Let me start by saying this is a great course to play. This course is difficult because of the trees that surround you on both sides of the fairway. There are plenty of bunkers there so make sure you practice your bunker shots and drives before you play here, I received my worse score ever on a golf course which was a 98. So the difficulty was there. I encourage you to golf at Armitage.

I just played here for the first time 8/8/09 and have to say I was very pleased. Saturday afternoon for $32 to ride is a great value for this course. I play many different courses and Armitage has, by far, the best fairways I've ever played on. It is a shorter course but you need to hit 'em straight. If your in the area this is a MUST play.

I played this course 20 years ago at a 9 handicap,I took my son and son in law and with one of their buddies on 8-09-09. This was and amazing trip because ive played saw grass, oak hill, onion creek, bayhills and this course for the money is great, well kept. The people are real people persons and you can tell they enjoy their jobs. We have already booked another trip with 2 more foursomes. If you are a true golfer this is a must play

As agreed with other reviews...many tight holes and rather short course. Many Par 4's are less than 300 yards from the White tees. With that said, this is still a challenging course and offered some of the most enjoyable golf in the area. Well established course, well maintained fairways that must be threaded with straight drives. The tall mature trees and distant mountain views certainly make this one of the most scenic courses in the Carlisle area....numerous scenic holes with enough diversity to keep each hole unique. Having played every public course in Cumberland County, this is my must play!

I played here last in the Fall of '06. Nice, compact, well maintained course. I liked the rolling hills of this course. Great value.

It's a nice course...

It plays a little tight, other than that it is a good course. Well maintained.
