Well I wish that first comment could be removes because I just played there 2 weeks ago on a golf trip to the sandhills and thought the course was beautiful. Great condition throughout the course. I didn't mind the yardages to the front, you just had to pay attention to the pin depth chart and you were good to go. Staff was great and clubhouse was beautiful. Jack was there not to long ago having some bunkers removed because they are no longer in play so it shows you that Jack really loves this course. The layout was fantastic and the greens rolled very true although I wish they were a little faster. All in all a great course in great condition. Well worth the trip.

The other guy must have come at a bad time. :)

Played this course a few times and it has always been in good condition. The layout is challenging as most greens are elevated and guarded by bunkers. Front nine plays much tougher than the back nine. Yardage will take some getting used to because they measure to the front of the greens and then give you green depth charges that any idiot can read and add to the yardage. Even after adding it still feels a bit weird clubbing up one or two clubs when you're thinking it's 150 yards. If you go in off-peak times it's a bit spendy still but if you can go for around $70-$80 it's one of the nicer and challenging courses in the area.

I'd recommend it but only in the summer when the course is manicured and the rates are cheaper.

The National

No grass on fairways, no sand in bunkers, yardage markers are way off. Jack Nicholas should see it now. What a disapointment. And they want $180.00 for green fees. Never again.
