Played No. 1 this spring. One of the most fun rounds I've ever played. I'm a 30 Handicap so it was nice to be able to play on a Donald Ross in PInehurst until I'm able to play No. 2.

The holes are creative and greens have the famous Ross false-fronts. I recommend to anyone looking for an enjoying round.

I played this as my first course at pinehurst. It was a blast, and they were planning on closing it down the following week to redo some of the layout. I will be going back to try it again. Many holes which will make you think your way through the course. Even though it is short it is not a gimmy round. Enjoy yourself you are at Pinehurst probably the best golf resort in the world.

Pinehurst No. 1 is a very classic Ross-style golf course. The course is not very tough and is not the best choice if you want to be a big boy and play from the tips on the best courses in the world, but there is something about it that will draw you back. Like No. 2, there are crowned greens but they arn't quite as severe. The 11th hole is one of the toughest par 3s I have ever played. The hole plays up-hill and over water with a tiny green that is nearly impossible to hit in regulation.
