l played recently and i hadavery bad time. a 'course monitor' guy started yelling at me for parking the golf cart with 2 wheels on the dirt next to the paved golf cart path. (please note; i've played golf a long time at many courses) i realize these "course monitors" can be little power trippers-my beef is with the pro-when i explained my problem he made it clear to me he didn,t care. me and my golf buddies won"t be back. steve burd

Very nice course, played yesterday, greens and fairway in excellent shape, would play there again.

Considering the fees, scenery, location, great condition of the course, I would say Clustered Spires is one of the best values in the tri-county area!

I played in the Frederick City Amateur Championship and found the course to be a good test of golf and was in great condition, with fast greens. The staff was very professional and friedly, running a great tournament. What was really cool was the new instructional / fitting room called 'The Vault' it is awesome!
The cost to play was very reasonable and is easy to get to. I deffinately put this course in my top 3 courses to play.

I have heard about this course before, but I played just recently and loved it. This golf course is fairly easy from tee to green. Not manny fairway bunkers, but most of the greens are well protected. Though tee to green is relatively easy, the greens are lightning, which provided a good challenge. The rates on this course were very reasonable, and they have excellent twilight rates. Would definitely come back again.

Clustered Spires is as fair a course as you will get...hit the ball straight and you will be rewarded. Most of the holes are back and forth holes and once in awhile, it's like "deja vu"...didn't I just play this hole? With that said...the holes are not boring. Very little water to get into trouble with. I particularly liked the last set of holes that involve some picturesque settings with trees. A course that's well worth its value...certainly worth the hour drive to get there.

A gem of a Muni

I play this course regularly, and it is a jewel! Nice design with some challenging holes to wake the complacent, and always well maintained. Agree with previous rater that the starters sometimes get overzealous, and it does make the experience less pleasant than it should be. Played here twice in March '07, and course is in excellent shape: fairways are well kept, bunkers were all raked, and greens were firm and medium fast. A few greens are heavily contoured, but most are fair and reasonably sloped. Fair warning, the practice greens (thre are two) rarely putt like the greens on the course. Pro shop is OK, staff is cordial. Snack bar is modest, and prices are OK, not the gouging that happens someplaces. Course gets lots of play, and is not the easiest place to find, so call ahead to make sure you can get on and find it!

Nice public course

Very nice course. well maintained. The starter was a stickler about being over your par time. we were 4 minutes late and just behind the group in front of us and he still felt the need to follow us out to the car and make comment. I guess that is better than be frustrated due to slow play.

Nice muni

This is a better then average muni that is in good shape. The course is challenging enough for low cappers and forgiving enough for hacks, so it's a nice mix for all golfers. Obviously, because it's a muni you're in for a long round on the weekends and during peak times. Not sure why they don't really offer a twilight rate, but it's worth what they are charging you.
