I had the worst golf experience in my life at the UMD golf course. We were a group of 4 and with two seniors. We were playing at an okay pace 4 ½ hours. The problem was that the marshall was a jackass, harassing us on the last 4 holes even when no one was waiting at the tee box behind us . He started follow us and showed me where my ball was (next to the fairway just on the rough) and you won’t believe what he did next, he kicked my ball two feet forward (He kicked my *($*$ ball!). That’s when I lost it and told him that you’re back off. I told the golf house and they did not give a @$!*%, telling me 4 ½ hours is too long. The group behind us was not waiting for us and yet this marshall was acting like we were looking for our balls. I guess if you want to go play at UMD golf course you better be ready to run to your ball (don’t take practice swings). If you want to pay to get harassed you can go and play golf at UMD golf course. Not going back

This course has hosted the Melwood-Prince Georges County Open, a tour stop on the Nationwide Tour, for 2010 and 2011. So obviously it is in much better shape than before the $12 million restoration was done, that was completed in the Summer of 2009. However, this course does get a lot of play. Always a favorite.

I know they just re-opened the course, but I was expecting so much more. You couldn't tell the difference between the fairways & the rough, other than the color of the grass.

I played this course twice and was disappointed both times. Maybe I came at the wrong time of the year, May and June--school was just letting out and maybe, well...I shouldn't make excuses for them. I was shocked that a major ACC University had such poor maintenance issues. I really enjoyed the layout of the couse; it is a George Cobb design. I found the course to be a nice challenge, but I jokingly said to the other golfers that I was paired with, "What is this BYOF (bring your own fairways). We all had a good laugh. However, this course had some nice challenges, and quite a few golfers that I play with recommend this course.

i've played this course numerous times, and all have been outstanding. earlier in the spring, they were conducting maintenance, but the maintenance staff was always courteous to the golfers and moved from the fairways and cut the mowers off when someone was swinging...the rest of the staff there were great as well

as for the course, it is in great condition! the bermuda grass fairways are smooth and easy to hit from, the greens have a nice roll to them and give even the most experienced readers some trouble

i encourage everyone to get out and play a couple rounds here, sooooo worth even get your clubs cleaned as you come off #18
