White Hawk Country Club, Crown Point, IN

One of the better public courses in NW Indiana. Well conditioned tee-boxes, fairways, and greens. Bunkers need some work. 36 holes makes for great diversity as each nine has its own unique character and provides a challenging but fair test. The staff is extremely friendly. Greens fees are slightly higher than other area courses but the quality of this course is a cut above the others. Beautiful clubhouse with on-site restaurant that serves delicious meals.

I made my reservation on 8/24 and asked if there was anything going on (tournaments, outings, etc). I was advised that there were 2 different member tournaments but they would be finished teeing off by noon. Little to my surprise, I arrived and noticed a 181 person golf outing. I was told by staff that I couldn't get a cart because of the outing and I should of planned ahead. Finally got a cart at about 1:45 and after making it to the first tee, found myself waiting for 4 groups to tee off. Ridiculous. There were several people there that golf the course regularly and they were extremely unhappy with the way everyone was treated. Very poor business on White Hawks part. The course was not as nice as I thought but the problems with the outing and the staff made it very unpleasant. First and last time at this course....... Golfers beware.

Overpriced, but an enjoyable course if you can find a discounted tee time. Don't let the numbers intimidate you, the course plays easier then the numbers indicate. The course is well laid out, but maintenance is subpar. Wide fairways, but you pay for missing them. Greens are maybe slightly on the small side, but the undulations make them play even smaller.
