What can I say beautiful course, decent amenities, friendly clubhouse staff even the course manager seems very nice. Unfortunately all this is ruined by the course ranger and a mob rules mentality of course management. When you have a tee time that you are 45 minutes early for and you are 45 minutes late teeing off there is already something wrong. It was a busy day and they were obviously allowing walk-ins to double book tee times. They were also allowing people to go out in 2 somes instead of making 4 somes. I was on the 14th hole when the course ranger came up to our 4 some and told us to speed along play that the four different 4 somes behind us were complaining. Mind you we were waiting at every tee box for the party in front of us. When I told the ranger that not once all day had the 2 some behind us been at the tee box behind us, but had been purposely staying back and hitting balls up on us he seemed not to care and told us to just speed it along. I suggest that if the players (who had never asked to play through) be allowed to play through) he did not make that happen. The party behind us hit on us again on the next hole so we abandoned play. I have never had a situation like this in nearly 30 years of golfing and will not be going back to this course. It is a shame too because the couse itself is pretty nice. Shame they don't put as much care into managing the course play as they do into course aesthetics.

I played this course last week and the greens are the best in the area. With this weather I don't know how they did it, but great job to the staff! This course is a must play.

This course has a great array of holes. One of my favorite in the area. Made some great changes in 11' with new management and drainage. Course use to be susceptible to wet conditions after a heavy rain, but since the intallation of the drainage it is a totally different course. I look forward to visiting this course many times during the 12' season.

A very eclectic design with holes that will challenge any player.

I've played this one about 4 times this year and have been pleased with it. Do Not play on this the day or so after a big rain however as several of the holes (3-6) will just be covered in water. I think that holes 8 and 9 are two of the most esthetic holes in the Alton area. Overall a fun and generally challenging course worth the incredibly low rates. $15 bucks after 4:00!

I'm shocked by the other reviews. The course is decent, but nothing special by any means. There is no driving range, so the first hole is a 511 yard risk-reward par 5, with water short and left of the green and OB down the entire right side of the hole. Playing that hole cold really stinks. Fairways are very spotty, but the greens are always nice. Good finishing hole.

this can be a fun course to play when it is in good shape. holes have good variety, they can be tight or open. last year this course got burnt out badly. probally needs vosia grass to handle the hot summers. the 8th tee has too much slope to it, makes you lay up 220 yards out. thank you for taking out the trees behind the 13th green. that green needed more sunshine.
