Played this course September 5th this was the 5th time playing this course out of all 5 this was the worst must have had a rough summer crabgrass growing on greens, temporary greens,no grass on greens at all. This may be understandable because of the lack of rain but charging $67 and not making you aware of this is unacceptable!

I played 36 holes on this course on a Friday. Replay rate is $20 for the cart. The greens are very fast on this course and roll pretty good. There is some undulation with the greens and some are pretty small. They are about a 10 according to the starter. The course is about 6000 from white and 6400 from the tips, both are pretty easy. The 4th hole is a nice Par 5 with elevated tee and elevated green. The course is in pretty good shape considering all the heat we had over the last month and we also had some downpours the last few days but the course was still in good shape, with the exception of the green on 14. (its burned out).

They do have GPS on the carts, always a plus and the pace was a little slow on Friday at times during the early round. The bunkers were in good shape. The weekday rate is a fair rate for the course, but White Clay Creek and Deerfield are better courses in the area, in my opinion.

Played the course. Green were very fast and challenging...price may be a little much but i booked my tee time through and it only cost $35.40 which is great for the quality of the course. Employees were very nice and helpful i had a great time will play if again

The course was is great shape considering all the rain we had in the previuos 5 days. I agree it is a bit pricey for what you get.

I played this course on the 18th of September. I had a great time. The starter, I think his name was Lionel, was very professional. He explained how you could use the gps to track the players in front you so you could tee off without waiting on tees with blind shots. The gps can also track your pace of play. Very helpful if your'e a slow poke. We were 18 minutes ahead of the pace and moved through the course very nicely. I find the course to be an excellent challenge without being ridiculous. If you are having a bad day the course can eat you alive on the other hand if you're striping it well a low score can be had. Play the course a few times before you form any firm judgements. Try to play during the week if possible to avoid weekend crowds.

Played here yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. $55 round for 2 PM teetime. Course is in great shape especially the greens. Tight layout with holes right next to each other. Black tees are deceiving - length isn't an issue but there are a fair amount of carries off the black tees compared to the whites. Cart girl came around 2 or 3 times which was good. GPS in carts was also nice.

The main issue and it's a big one is that it was over a 5 hour round which is way TOO LONG. For some reason they sent us off on the 10th hole because they thought there would be less wait. Bad idea since on 11 there is a long carry over water with a road to the left. So most people either were in the water or OB on the road. Pace would pick up then slow down, pick up then slow down. It's a challening, tight course but they need to go a MUCH better job of spacing out and scheduling tee times. They need to hire a more experienced starter.

The course looks easy but the greens (which are in great condition) are usually hard so it play is more challenging. Course is well kept even out of season. Price may $10 too high for the area, but there are discount programs. I have heard slow play is common, but I have not experienced it in about 6 rounds (played in between 3 hrs and 4.5 hrs).

I couldn't disagree more with the previous two posts regarding the value of Rock Manor. We played during the week and for my father, who is a senior and Delaware resident, and I paid less than $98 at 9:04am. The greens are as good as any around and the rest of the course, including the bunkers were in great shape. The course layout is not overly tough if you play from the right set of tees, but defintely a fun challenge.

I also played on the weekends throughout last season and at times, the rounds could be slow, but I have to think that is due to the amount of play they get. Service has always been good and the rewards program is a nice touch.

I would defintely recommend.

Completely agree with golferinDE. Rounds are ridiculously long - I had a 6 hr round. Very overpriced for the layout and conditions. The only reason it is crowded is that it was recently renovated, local, and better than Porky Oliver. But you'd be better off traveling north and playing at the many other much higher value, better courses. Rock Manor's initial awe will wear out and they will be forced to lower their fees that is more appropriate for the course. Right now they are taking advantage of the demand but soon it'll die.

This course is much better than it was before the renovation, but it's now grossly overpriced (even with the resident discount). Rock Manor is not as bad of a value as Porky Oliver or Delcastle are right now, but it's still overpriced nonetheless. There are much better values across the state line in PA or MD (or on semi-private courses open to the public). I found the manager in charge the day I played (Jim?) to be quite lacking in the people skills department. Not only was he rude, but he needs to be more concerned with pace of play and less concerned with how many people are in a grouping. We had no one behind us for at least three holes, yet had to wait on every tee for at least five minutes everytime. We asked (nicely, I'll add) if something could be done about the pace of play, but nothing changed. When our group of three and two (three of whom shoot in the low 80s) combined into one group to pass the time, we were threatened to be thrown off the course. Unreal! I haven't played there since.

Also, the food service was slow, to say the least. I wish I had better things to say...I'm actually not one to complain about things, and Rock Manor is almost in my backyard...I'd love to have a reason to play this course more often.

A wonderful afternoon. Not super hard or dramatic, but somehow had a very nice aesthetic appeal. And reasonable. Great condition.
