This was simply a awesome golf course. Don't let the cheaper greens fee fool you, it could easily be a $65.00 or more, but for $49.00 it was great. The marshals were friendly, staff was friendly and the course was in great shape. Clubhouse was a little weak, but I own my own clubs, shoes and shirts, so who cares. I'm here to play golf not go shopping. If you never tried delcastle...please give it a try!

This course needs some help this year. The locals said it needed more attention.

This is a course with a dual personality. The front 9 has an old course feel to it. Starts off benign and then gradually gets tougher. Very easy to lose your ball if you hit into the rough on the front nine. Number 6 is a nice par three where you hit from and elevated tee to a green that sits on a rise. the following par 5 is all you could ask for in a golf hole. Elevated tee where you hit over a valley onto a hill wich overlooks yet another valley that rises to an uphill green. There's at least a hundred feet differential in elevation changes. I think this is the toughest hole on the course yet the very next hole.. number 8 is rated as the toughest but it's a pretty straight forward par 4. Number 9 in another interesting par 3. Elevated tee again to a smallish green. The back nine has a more updated feel.. not as many drastic elevation changes. Number 13 is a tough dogleg left and number 18 is similiar to number 7 with drastic elevation changes. The staff is nice and the course presents a nice challenge without being too difficult. Last time I played here I had a rough front nine due to poor play.. one should be able to shoot in the mid eighties here without too much difficulty. But if you're not hitting it the proper spots the course can penalize you. The green on number 16 is in bad shape. The rest of the greens are of good quality. Ply this course.. I think you will find it to be enjoyable and rather interesting.

One of the better public courses in Northern Delaware. The course is usually in decent shape, and it's good for beginners and more avid golfers alike. A much better value than Ed "Porky" Oliver and Rock Manor, this course is on my short list of places in Delaware I'd choose to play.

Nice local course, good value. Under new management this year and currently in the process of being updated, so far so good. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. I enjoy playing here. PS the website listed on this site is wrong the correct web address is

Very poorly maintained.

I have played this course twice and each time was great. The holes were challenging and fairly well laid out, well maintained and the staff were were very friendly. The water jugs every couple of holes are a nice touch, though the snackbar closes down on slow days and there is no snack cart driving around. Its fairly difficult to play in 90 degree heat for 4 hours without a hot dog after hole 9. Though at only $43 for the course and a cart, the value is there and I will visit this course many times more.

I really enjoyed this course. It has some good variety. Could use a food/drink service cart for long afternoons. Very well maintained.
