Great course for the price and convenience. Greens were great and while the tee boxes and cart paths need some TLC the condition overall were pretty good for a muni.

The back 9 is better than the front 9. Bald spots and poor conditions for the price. If they'd lower the cost, I'd be back...until then, sorry, just not worth it. BUT, I am looking forward to the redesign.

This is a nice course, but they have GOT to do something about the goose crap everywhere. It's getting ridiculous.

I thinking of choosing this as course to play as my home course to improve my game as there is just enough variety to the holes to be challenging, I have played 10 area courses and only one is more challenging with narrow greens.

I love the character, convenience, and friendliness of this course. It is at once urban, with the Metro thundering overhead of the driving range, tenth tee, and eighteenth green, sirens wailing, and helicopters flying above, and naturally wild, particularly on the back nine, where I have seen whitetail deer, badgers, bald eagles, egrets, and heron. The back nine is the draw, a links/parkland hybrid, with two crossings of Kingman Lake, riparian vegetation, and views of the National Arboretum. The par 5's offer the greatest challenge, with #10 & 16 good tests, along with #3 on the front. Number 13, a par 3 with a carry over the lake to an elevated green with the Anacostia River to the right would probably be the course's signature hole, if they chose to identify one. The clubhouse is minimal and needs to be replaced, but mention should be made of the very nice chipping/pitching practice area, which along with the driving range make this a good place to work on your game. The fairways are spotty, but the greens are generally good at holding shots and rolling true. I recommend this least known DC course, a diamond in the rough, and a fun place to play.

Decently well maintained front nine, back nine is quite spotty in places. The front nine is a very nice wide open collection of holes, while the back nine can be somewhat unforgiving at times. Quite hilly and/or tight in places (and the 10th hole tees off nearly in the driving range danger zone - you may have to sort through a number of range balls to find yours). All around a fun course.

A solid beginner's and intermediate level course. This course is one of three in Washington DC. A good course for the beginner; not so much for experienced players. The front nine is pretty wide open, not too many hazards. My favorite holes are 2, 3, 4, 5 and 9. The back nine is more challenging; it wraps around Kingman Lake which is connected to the Anacostia River. My favorite holes are 10 (on the weekends this hole is not as challenging because they move the white and black stakes to the right of the lake--on weekdays you tee shot requires you to carry the lake) 12, 13, 15, and 16. I consider this one of my home courses. I live in DC and it is a quick and easy golf fix with a decent price tag attached. No twilight rates.
