Worst conditioned course I've played on in years. I'm going to blame it on the drought because the fairways had little to no grass but the greens were spectacular. The greens have more undulation than I've ever seen to the point of gimmicky. Not sure how they can charge so much for cart path only golf. No coolers on the carts for water and one beverage cart. Most of the holes are blind shots but I was not going to spend more money on a caddie for a worthless course. The views are second to none but save your money and go to the beach instead. Extremely disappointed. The staff was very friendly though.

I played his course for my 40th birthday 8 years ago. I thought it was a beautiful course. Going to that area, you should know you will be paying the freight on the rounds. It should be a must hit if you are out in the area.

Recently played Pebble Beach, Spyglass, and Links at Spanish Bay. Spanish Bay paled in comparison to the other two. Far too many blind shots, tricked up holes, and the "forfeit your ball rule" when you are less than 5 yards off the fairway does not make for an enjoyable round. No doubt that you cannot beat the views but this is not a true links course. We played on a Saturday afternoon and it was an extremely slow round. If you need to warm up prior to your round, stop at Spyglass on the way...there is not a driving range at Spanish Bay.

Spanish Bay is a very good golf course that gets mixed critical reviews. On the one hand, there are some very good, memorable golf holes here, starting with the opening hole, a risk reward par 5 along the ocean. The views on this course are terrific -- there aren't many courses that offer ocean views from every hole like Spanish. It's a fun course that golfers of all levels can enjoy.

True, it's not a links course. And there are a number of quirky holes that keep Spanish Bay off the list of "great courses" in the area (Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, Pasatiempo). And if you're looking for value, Spanish doesn't's expensive. Still, once you've played the great courses in the area, this is a must stop.

This rating says all about the facilities, but not the course. The amenties are great, the course is not. Not a true links as advertised, and strange, bizzare holes. Trent Jones Jr missed a great opportunity when designing this course, he messed it up. Give me a team of dozers and shapers and i can make this world class in a makeover. NOT WORTH THE PRICE.

I have played Pebble Beach, Spyglass hill, Poppy hills, ect. Played Spanish for the first time today, in a word - amazing. Perfect condition, tough but fair, and unbelievable views from what seemed like every hole. I have a new favorite course!
