Maxfli Softfli Performance Notes

For what it is -- a two-piece, ionomer-covered, soft-feel ball -- the Maxfli Softfli put up some impressive numbers in our test. Its most impressive showing came in our 50-yard wedge test, which should grab the attention of folks shopping this category of balls, because that's typically the biggest sacrifice you make when you play a soft, two-piece ball.

With wedge spin in the 6000s and a mid-launch, it put up an impressive Wedge Control score in our test.

Driver distance was middle-of-the-road. Ball speeds in our driver test were a tick lower than the average ball but at the top of the pack among peer balls, including Callaway Supersoft, Srixon Soft Feel and Snyder Soft Plus. Driver distance would likely fall in the upper tier overall with higher launch angle. Distance in our 7-iron test, however, was among the longest of the 40-plus balls we've tested.
