Callaway Supersoft Performance Notes
Supersoft lives up to its name. The 1903 RPM of driver spin proved to be the lowest of any ball we tested. Paired with a high launch profile across all three clubs, that gives Supersoft an opportunity to stay in the air a long time, the classic formula for optimizing slower swing speeds.
While we didn’t see the total distance numbers outperform most of the competition, Supersoft may benefit players with slower swing speeds more than many competitors.
As with any low-spin ball, wedge control had to be the sacrificial lamb. You can’t expect that low-spinning of a ball to deliver elite greenside spin.
At $26 a dozen, Supersoft is one of the cheapest balls we tested, especially from a legacy brand. That pulls its Value score up into the middle of the pack.
