Most golfers know by now that Callaway’s new Elyte family of drivers is one of the hottest new products of 2025. But did you know that, if you add up every club with Elyte and Driver in its name, there are a total of 10 Callaway Elyte Drivers to choose from?

That may sound like a lot, but paring down those options to the one or two that fit you best is actually easy.

Let’s check out the technology inside Callaway Elyte Drivers and figure out how to find the best model of the family for you.

Technically, there are 10 different Callaway Elyte drivers, but three of them are women’s versions that mirror a slightly longer, heavier counterpart. Another one is the Elyte Mini Driver, which is somewhat of a different animal because most golfers would consider that a 3-wood replacement, rather than a driver alternative.

Still, that leaves six different Elyte drivers to choose from. Here’s how to decode the various options, from the ones that fit the slowest swing speeds, all the way up:

  • Elyte Max Fast (<90 MPH): Made for moderate to slower swing speeds; lightweight build with higher launch profile to maximize club speed and distance; Women's version available
  • Elyte X (90-105 MPH): Best for average swing speeds and players who need maximum forgiveness, higher launch and draw bias/slice-fighting power; Women's version available
  • Elyte (90-105 MPH): Best for average swing speeds and players who want total performance, including distance, forgiveness, and accuracy; Women's version available
  • Elyte Triple Diamond (95+): Best for players with faster swing speeds who benefit from reduced spin; Tour Draw (draw biased) and Max (added forgiveness) versions available

If you pay close attention to trends in the golf equipment space, you might have picked up on the fact that many of today’s drivers are already bumping into the USGA’s limits of Coefficient of Restitution (COR).

In simple terms, COR is a measurement of how much energy a driver transfers to the ball at impact. It’s also known as the trampoline effect, if that helps paint a picture of what we’re talking about.

So, if COR is already maxed out in many of today’s drivers, how do they keep getting longer and longer every year? There are a few ways, actually, and Callaway is tapping into them.

Improved Aerodynamics

Callaway optimized the aerodynamics of the Elyte driver, which means that with the same effort, you can swing the Elyte faster than you’d swing another driver.

Increasing swing speed is the easiest way to increase distance.

Hot Across the Face

Drivers might have been pushing COR to the max for a while now out of the sweet spot, but there were still optimizations to be made across the rest of the face. Callaway has chased those gains as aggressively as anybody in the industry.

The Elyte driver features Callaway’s Ai 10x Face. If you remember Callaway’s Smart Face from previous drivers, the Ai 10x Face has 10-times (bet you didn’t see that coming) more control points across the face.

Translation? You get optimal ball speeds from a much larger percentage of the face. You no longer have to hit the sweet spot with precision to hit bombs.

Topping it Off

Last but certainly not least is the Thermoforged Carbon Crown found on all of the Elyte drivers.

Why should you care about the crown? The lightweight material allowed Callaway engineers to reposition precious weight to where it can be used to assist your desired shot shape or trajectory.

It’s part of the reason Callaway was able to put a 13g movable rear weight in most Elyte offerings, which you can utilize to dial in a draw, neutral, or in some instances fade bias.

The Triple Diamond models, however, eschew the 13g movable weight in exchange for a pair of interchangeable heavy and light weights for the front and rear. Put the heavy weight in front to reduce spin, or move it to the back to boost forgiveness.

CALLAWAY ELYTE X
Swing Speed Range: 90-105 mph
Player Profile: 0-30 HCP seeking higher launch and maximum forgiveness
Size: 460cc
Lofts: 9°, 10.5°, 12°
Weight Settings: Neutral, Fade, Draw
Variations: Women’s

If you want all the benefits of the Elyte driver but want as much forgiveness as possible from your driver, check out the Elyte X.

The Elyte X has a slightly larger, longer footprint, a slight draw bias, and a higher launch profile than the Elyte driver. It will create a little more spin than the core model as well, which can help keep the ball in the air longer for players with average or slower swing speeds, but players with faster swing speeds may see more benefits from a different Elyte driver.

ELYTE TRIPLE DIAMOND
Swing Speed Range: 95+ mph
Player Profile: Better player with fast swing speed
Size: 450cc (Triple Diamond and Tour Draw); 460cc (Max)
Lofts: 8°, 9°, 10.5°
Variations: Triple Diamond Max; Triple Diamond Tour Draw

If your swing speed is 95-105 mph, you can play the Elyte Triple Diamond driver, depending on some other variables, including your skill level and typical ball flight. However, if your driver swing speed is more than 105 mph, you more than likely should play one of the Triple Diamond options from the Elyte family.

Triple Diamond offers lower spin, which maximizes distance given the right swing speed and launch conditions. While still quite forgiving, the Triple Diamond options are less forgiving than their siblings from the core, X, and Max Fast lines.

Triple Diamond Max offers more forgiveness than the Triple Diamond driver while still delivering a profile that fits players with faster swing speeds.

Meanwhile, the Triple Diamond Tour Draw adds internal heel weighting to add a dose of draw bias that many players crave off the tee.

Despite a dizzying number of options within the family, finding the Elyte driver that fits your swing speed and typical shot shape is easy.
