Bushnell Tour V7 Shift Life-Tested Review
We tested the Bushnell Tour V7 Shift for accuracy, optics, speed, and more. Here’s how it scored.

When Bushnell drops a new rangefinder, it’s worth paying attention to. Considering that 98% of PGA Tour players use a Bushnell rangefinder (when they’re allowed), Bushnell is the de facto gold standard in the industry.
So, what’s new with Bushnell’s new Tour V7 Shift? And is it worth upgrading?
We put it through our standard rangefinder testing protocols. Here’s what we learned.
How We Test Rangefinders
Every rangefinder we review is tested both on the course over at least 18 holes, and in a controlled, premeasured environment with precisely measured distances. This testing verifies accuracy within inches and compares performance across key categories like speed, optics, and ease of use. Learn more about how we test rangefinders.
In the case of the Tour V7 Shift, we tested it on the course over several rounds.

The Bushnell Tour V7 Shift proved to be the total package in our testing. It nailed our accuracy test, delivered excellent optics and one of the strongest magnets we’ve tested. Plus, Bushnell didn’t sacrifice any of the point-and-shoot simplicity.
Accuracy

Accuracy is a rangefinder’s most important job, and the Tour V7 Shift was bang-on.
Some rangefinders return two different distances a yard apart in our accuracy test, and at this distance, that’s still pretty good. The Tour V7 Shift returned the exact same distance – the correct one – on every shot.
Optics
The Tour V7 Shift has a two-color (Red/Green) OLED display and 6x magnification. The display is crystal clear, and the dual-colored optics make it easy to read in any light conditions. It’s among the best we tested, but not quite at the top of the list.

Features & Ease of Use
Bushnell baked a couple of new features into the Tour V7 Shift. First, its Slope First feature highlights the slope-adjusted distance (when in slope mode) in green, which makes it stand out more clearly against the raw distance.
Second, Bushnell added LINK-Enabled technology to the V7 Shift. This has the potential to be a game-changer because it takes your stock distances straight from a compatible launch monitor and uses them to deliver personalized club recommendations right in the viewfinder. But that feature only works with Foresight and Bushnell launch monitors (most of them, anyways). It’s fair to say that most golfers don’t have easy access to one of those units, and since you can’t manually input your data from different devices or shot-tracking systems, many players will never have the ability to take advantage of this feature.
Magnetic cart mounts are standard these days, but quality varies wildly. If you’re in for a hilly or bumpy ride, you need a top-notch magnet. Bushnell’s BITE magnetic mount is as strong as any we’ve tested.
Design & Build Quality
The Tour V7 Shift is rated IPX6 water resistant and Bushnell backs it with a 2-year warranty.
Who Is It For
The Bushnell Tour V7 Shift is a really good rangefinder priced in the premium tier with one specific differentiating feature that most golfers won’t actually be able to use. When you add all that up, it makes the “who is it for” question a little trickier.
Golfers who already use a Foresight or Bushnell launch monitor are easy targets. They’ll get the most out of the Tour V7 Shift. But players who are willing to pay for a top-end rangefinder – regardless of if they can integrate their own club distances – can still get a ton of benefit.
With accuracy you can trust, crisp optics, and streamlined ease of use, the V7 Shift is attractive to any golfer.
That said, the rangefinder market is full of accurate units with crystal clear optics. If you’re not planning on using the LINK-Enabled club recommendations, you can find alternatives that are just as functional for a lower price. Units like the VistaGet Golvia Pro and Shot Scope Pro L5 performed just as well in our testing and cost up to $150 less.
