The Best Golf Shoes of 2025: Tested, Scored & Ranked
TRUE OG Cush: Best Overall

FIND ON TRUEFIND ON AMAZON
Profile: Spikeless
Waterproof: Water-resistant
Pros:
- Variety of colors to fit anyone’s style
- Excellent traction for outdoor activities
- Zero drop comfort
- Wide toe box
The TRUE Zero Drop OG Cush checks all the boxes of the perfect golf shoe for walking. For starters, it’s the most comfortable golf shoe for walking the course that I’ve tested in the last few years.
TRUE’s signature zero-drop and wide toe box profiles both surprised me. As the first zero-drop shoe I’ve tested, I instantly fell in love with that natural feel while walking the course. And while I was skeptical of a wide-toe box shoe as a normal-width-foot person, that extra room proved to be a comfort-booster.
The breathable construction and spikeless outsole make the OG Cush the perfect choice for routine rounds, and a water-resistant finish gives you extra protection if you run into some unexpected moisture on the course. However, I’d favor a more stout shoe if there’s steady rain forecast throughout your round.
With five colorways to choose from in both men’s and women’s sizes, any golfer can find their ideal TRUE OG Cush.

Pluto 1: Best All-Day Golf Shoe

FIND ON PLUTO
Profile: Spikeless
Waterproof: No
Pros:
- Versatile style and plenty of colors/styles to choose from
- Comfort lives up to the hype
- Perfect for ideal golf conditions
The more I wear the Pluto 1s for golf, the more I end up wearing them for everyday life. They transition seamlessly off the course, which is why they’re our pick as the best all-day golf shoe for walking.
You won’t find an aggressive outsole or a waterproof warranty here. These are strictly for walking the course in ideal conditions. However, you also won’t have to change your shoes before or after your round, and you’ll look good all day wearing the Pluto 1.
Pluto claims these are the most comfortable shoes in golf, and while I can’t say that no other shoe is as comfortable as these, I also can’t identify another shoe that beats the Pluto 1 head-to-head in the comfort department.

PUMA Ignite Elevate 2: Best Value

FIND ON AMAZON
Profile: Spikeless
Waterproof: 1 year
Pros:
- Best blend of comfort, style, and performance
- Waterproof yet breathable makes them great for walking in virtually any conditions
- Excellent value
- Several colorways available
The Ignite Elevate 2 shares a profile with one of my favorite golf shoes I’ve ever owned, the PUMA Ignite Fasten8. While you can still find the Fasten8 and score an amazing deal, sizes and color selections are more and more limited as we’ve blown past the four-year mark since those were first released.
With that in mind, your best bet for the best value golf shoe for walking is the Ignite Elevate 2. It’s a comfortable, great-looking, spikeless golf shoe that’s breathable yet waterproof, with a 1-year waterproof warranty.
At $129, it’s an excellent value, and if my experience with the Ignite Fasten8 is any indication, you can expect to enjoy these well beyond that 1-year warranty period. My pair of Fasten8s has been at the top of my rotation for walking rounds for a few years now, and still looks and performs as good as new.

Payntr Eighty Seven SC: Best Spiked

FIND ON PAYNTR
Profile: Spiked
Waterproof: Yes
Pros:
- Combines Payntr’s signature comfort with waterproof construction
- Spiked outsole provides tour-level performance
- Sleek style, including green and gold accents, is the result of design input from Jason Day
Testing the Payntr Eighty Seven SC was actually my third go-round with Payntr shoes. Each of the first two tests I came away with the same conclusion: they’re excellent golf shoes, but without a waterproof warranty (despite a seemingly waterproof build), I lacked the confidence to wear them in dicey spring and fall conditions.
So when the waterproof, spiked, Eighty Seven SC dropped, I was giddy, and these shoes did not disappoint.
Playing my first spring rounds in the Eighty Seven SC, I tested not only their comfort for walking the course, but their waterproof construction and the performance of that spiked outsole. From toe to heel, they passed with flying colors.

TRUE OG3 Pro: Best Waterproof

FIND ON TRUEFIND ON AMAZON
Profile: Spikeless
Waterproof: 2 years
Pros:
- Everything you need in a year-round golf shoe
- Clean, attractive style
- Aggressive yet spikeless outsole provides ideal stability
If the TRUE OG3 Pro were the only pair of golf shoes you owned, I don’t think you’d ever want for anything else.
As another zero-drop, wide toe box option from TRUE, the OG3 Pro is waterproof, backed by a 2-year warranty, and has a more aggressive outsole than the OG Cush. It’s insanely comfortable for walking and delivers the performance you need during wet spring and fall weather. Despite that protection, I still found the OG3 Pro breathable and comfortable during hot, dry rounds in my testing.

- Convenience of a slip-in
- Top-notch comfort
- Excellent stability for a spikeless shoe
If you want a comfortable and convenient golf shoe for your walking rounds, check out Skechers’ GO GOLF Slip-In line.

Heathlander Golf Shoe: Editor's Choice

FIND ON HEATLANDER
Profile: Spikeless
Waterproof: Yes
Pros:
- Classic style with pebbled leather upper
- Superior comfort for walking the course
- Excellent stability
- Men’s & women’s sizes available
The Heathlander golf shoe is somewhat of a hybrid between the more traditional, classic-looking golf shoes and the modern made-for-walking golf shoes that could pass for running shoes or sneakers.
Despite the classic looks, don’t expect the stiff, boardy feel typically associated with elegant shoes. I took them straight out of the cardboard-free box and wore them on the course for three consecutive rounds, and never had a break-in period. No blisters, soreness, or achy feet afterwards.
While the 9mm tread makes the Heathlander golf shoe an on-course shoe only – not an all-day option that can transition off the course – the soft inside, cushy insole, and padded heel pillow make for a welcoming environment for your feet during any trek of the golf course.

FootJoy Men's FJ Flex XP: Editor's Choice

FIND ON AMAZON
Profile: Spikeless
Waterproof: 1 year
Pros:
- Comfortable for walking all day
- Great for dry conditions
- Great value from a reputable brand
FootJoy has one of the best reputations for quality, comfortable golf shoes, so it’s no surprise they make an appearance on our list of the best golf shoes for walking.
We love the FJ Flex XP because, in addition to being lauded for the comfort FootJoy is known for, these shoes perform great for walking the course, particularly in dry, summer conditions. At under $100, they’re also a great value from a trustworthy brand.
How We Selected the Best Golf Shoes for Walking
While I have personally walked dozens of rounds of golf in the shoes on the list, life-testing five of these nine selections this year alone, I also made room for the possibility that I haven’t personally tested all of the best golf shoes for walking.
With that in mind, I scoured the materials, specs, waterproof warranty, price, reviews, and reputation of several golf shoes I haven’t tested (yet), and evaluated newer iterations of shoes I’ve loved in the past to round out the recommendations on this list.
Walk the Walk
They’ve said golf is a long walk spoiled. Based on your on-course performance, that could be the case, but in this day and age, there’s no excuse to let your footwear spoil your experience on the course.
There are too many great golf shoes out there, and I hope one of these nine recommendations helps you get more enjoyment out of walking the course.
