TPC Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico is home to 4 Robert Trent Jones, Sr. courses set on the Caribbean coast. While all courses are fun, the centerpiece is the East Course. Jones designed it as a classic seaside course, with many holes playing right along the shoreline. The course was built in 1958 and was one of the first truly championship courses in the Caribbean. The course was updated to a modern length in 2011 by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. who stayed true to his father’s original vision. Golfers should expect beautiful, challenging golf with numerous high risk/reward holes.

La Romana 22000, Dominican Republic
A luxury destination in the Dominican Republic, the Casa de Campo Resort and Villas rolls over 7,000 acres on the southeast corner of the island. The resort offers 3 courses to guests, all designed by noted architect Pete Dye. Dye points to the standout course, known as Teeth of the Dog, as his favorite build. Featuring 7 seaside holes and beautiful vistas. Golfers should expect a strategic game of golf with many high risk/reward opportunities.
One Ocean Drive Paradise Island

Tom Weiskopf’s course is at the heart of the Ocean Club, with the award-winning designer and former professional doing some of his best resort work here in the Bahamas. Many of the holes follow the shoreline, and water also comes into play on the inland holes in the form of man-made lakes. The course plays 7,100 yards from the tips, but wide fairways and generally forgiving greens along with multiple tee boxes make the course enjoyable for all skill levels.
Punta Cana 23000, Dominican Republic
Puntacana Resort & Club is another excellent Dominican resort, home to 45 holes and wonderful amenities. The courses are split between the 27 hole La Cana facility and the 18-hole Corales Golf Course. La Cana has 3 9-hole tracks that players can mix and match to create a wonderful 18-hole experience. Corales Golf Course is the more challenging and newer course, designed by Tom Fazio in 2010. Golfers will enjoy the challenge of forced carries over rocky ocean cliffs and have especially praised the challenging closing trio known as the Devil’s Elbow.

Considered by many to be Puerto Rico’s best course, Royal Isabela has seen its profile rise in the years following its construction in 2009. The course was built by David Pfaff, and provides a combination of beautiful views and difficult routing to make a hefty challenge for any golfer. Rocky cliffs overlooking the ocean provides the setting for this stunning course, which has aspects of links and parkland design. Bring your best game when tackling this beautiful and penal course.

The Ocean Club and Ocean Club West are situated on the island paradise of Turks & Caicos, and have access to the Provo Golf & Country Club course. The course is a forgiving course with generally wide fairways and medium to large sized green. Where it excells is in providing a beautiful setting and a fair game of golf. For many golfers who are on vacation with their families, they may not be looking for the most difficult (and likely most frustrating) course. Instead they want to enjoy the sea breeze and try and make par. This course is perfect for those golfers.

Sandy Lane resort in Barbados is home to 45 holes and 3 courses with the Old Nine, The Country Club, and the Green Monkey. The Country Club and Green Monkey are both designed by Tom Fazio. The Country Club is considered by some to be the easier of the 2 full courses, though it was challenging enough to host the 2006 World Golf Championships Barbados World Cup. Both courses offer seaside holes and beautiful sights, though the Green Monkey’s 7,343 yards set atop an old limestone quarry offers more memorable holes full of forced carries and elevation changes.
