Good course with interesting layout and many bunkers. Course is hard and balls get lost in the thick rough. Conditions have fallen a bit over the past 5 years. Fully-stocked pro shop. Nice historical tributes to designer Arnold Palmer and Company.

great course! if you can't hit the fairways you'll be throwing clubs or pulling your hair out (and you won't find your ball!). very difficult for the average golfer.

Enjoyable course -- fair for all. Ask about their afternoon rates.

One of my favorite courses I have ever played. It's a great design, in great shape, with a great practice area, great clubhouse and golf that challenges all parts of your game. It's worth the trip. One recommendation: first time you play buy a yardage card as it will definately help.

The Stonewall

Absolutely a great, challenging and demanding trek. Unbelieveable scenery and wildlife opportunities while on the course. The course offers a myriad of opportunities for play from 5 teeing grounds to course layout. I play (sometimes) to a 7 handicap and I can tell you that playing from the blue tees offered all of the challenge I needed. Tough but enjoyable to play. Excellent Pro Shop and staff. Playing the Stonewall was a great welcome back for us to our home state of West (by God) Vriginia. We have played all over the world (military life) and can say that the Stonewall holds its' own with any course we have played. A great tribute to Arnold Palmer and West Virginia golf.

Hidden gem

Five Stars all the way! One of the best. Stonewall is a great course just 3 miles off I-79. Stopped and played while driving from Pittsburgh area back to NC. Well maintained, excellent condition, tough but fair, excellent greens, beautiful views, friendly staff...Will definitely play again.
