This course was BY FAR the most well maintained Golf Resort I have ever played for 45$. The fairways were tough to see on most holes, Most likely because they may cut the fairway and the rough with the same mower. The greens were in pristine shape and my prov1 rolled smoothly over the surface with no bumps. Most of the luscious greens were the tone of brown. But i really enjoyed my time at this Stunner of a golf course. I dont get why people are complaining about 45$ for this masterpiece. The way i see it, im getting a deal. MY favorite hole is the par 3 with the 100 foot tall tree blocking 85% of the green. The bunkers havent been raked in about 3 years, but it just creates a interesting challenge. Believe me. Anyone that doesnt like this course, doesnt know what a "beautiful" golf course truly is like. The fringes are calf high, and the rough....well there is no rough. The first hole calls for a accurate teeshot. Believe me if you hit the fairway (Dead spot) your ball will most likely roll a good 250 yards. I just love this course. ANd i wanna thank the Sleepy hollow maintenence crew for keeping this course up to par. It is just beautiful and you guys are doing a great job. THe only recommendation i would make is to raise the prices, because for the round of golf that i am getting, i dont feel like im paying enough.

Have to agree. This course is a collection of old cow pastures. Some holes look and play better than others. To add to others comments, a group of four walked on ahead of my group of four somewhere around the fifth hole and really held us up from the 6th hole on in. I travel to this area of the country 4 times a year on business and won't be coming back to this course.

This course is a joke. As people have said...i dont understand how they are able to charge what a normal course would charge. Seriously just sell the land and turn this place into a dump cause it already is one. Honestly, when you have a powerline that comes into play on your drive off the tee, it's not worth your time or money, go to Locust Hill, soooo much better.

wE PLAYED HERE ON SUNDAY, 30 MARCH 2008.....OUR FIRST AND LAST TIME!!!players "jump in front of you" to join Large gambling groups of 5, 6 and 7 players. this course is a total "free for all" course and the only rule is "there are no rules". Maintenance is literally non existent; Greens are like concrete; and the best thing you can expect from this course is the view in your rear view mirror as you leave. If youre bringing your lady(s) to play, tell them that the bathroom might not have water to wash your hands but the toilet DOES flush. Also, this course does not have stated on the front sign so you cannot call ahead to get tee times using a TeetimeGolfPass discount..........which they don't accept until after April 1st......per the guy in the pro shop

How Sleepy Hollow can charge what the other courses charge is beyond me. As stated before, this course has potential. The lay-out isn't all that bad (rather liked 15-17), but what goes on here really bothers me. In front of me was a six-some...behind me was a seven-some and an eight-some. Got through the group in front of me. Other golfers told me they allow this and serious betting is taking place. Shame really...with the right touch, could be a descent but not spectacular course.

This course is a joke -- how is it ranked #2 in West Virginia?

course has potential, but is not maintained. Quite obvious it is a family owned (via generations/inheritence) facility. 'Club house' is a 10x10 shed. The fees are ridiculous compared to the quality of the course. With that said, they are prob necessary to keep the establishment solvent as management is known for allowing free outings to 'neighbors'. Locust Hill is same price and 20x's the course, and only 10 min away. Charles Town went through a tremendouse housing boom and this course missed the boat... big time

Yeah, it's pretty bad

Not as bad as the previous reviewer states, but pretty bad. The layout is actually quite interesting - if it was kept up at all it would be a decent course. But it is hard to get past the bare spots all over the course. I doubt I'd return unless I got a pass.
