The 18-hole "Old Trail" course at the Old Trail Golf Club facility in Crozet, Virginia features 6,914 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Designed by Jerry Kamis, the Old Trail golf course opened in 2005.
Set in a beautiful part of the state, it offers great view of the mountains while playing especially on a sunny summer or fall day. It's a fairly nice layout but there are a few bland holes they could have done a better job with in the design, like #7 and #13, both par 3s. Played yesterday and greens were nice and rolling smooth. Fairways are all bermuda, so when conditions are right you get a great lie in the fairway every time.Holes 10, 11 and 12 are the best stretch of holes on the course. As another reviewer mentioned about #18, it definitely is the worst finishing hole I have ever seen. All in all, still a very good course for the value. A definite play in this area.
A great layout and the only linksey course in the area. Course is not in great shape. There are patches of crab grass in the fairways and greens. It would be a good course for competitive golf except for the condition of the course. If you are in the are in the area i would play it. Another problem with the condition is the course is ALWAYS wet. Even if the rain was 2 or 3 days before.
