This is great course but it will definitely test your ability. Every time I have played here, the course has been in great shape. Being an Arnold Palmer course, you would expect nothing less. There are some great holes on this beautiful layout, but some of them will eat you alive. Hole #9 is deceptivly hard as it plays short, downhill, and downwind. But your approach to the green is very difficult to stop as the wind can send your ball into the water directly behind the green. #10 is a long par 3 that plays back into the same wind that hurt you on #9 and now can make this hole play 3 to 4 clubs more than what you think! There are numerous holes on the back 9 that are super demanding, and 17 and 18 and can leave you headed home in tears. #17 is a super long par 4 that can play like a par 5, with houses down both sides of the fairway (5 is a good number here). And 18 requires a very precise tee shot to a narrow landing area heavily guarded by sand and a creek down the left. This tee shot makes it a definite 3 shot hole.
Play on the course can sometime be quite slow, and I dont think the pro-shop staff is overly polite. But as long as you dont expect to have the low round of your life, you will find the condition and layout of Arnold's design well worth the trouble. Prices are a little bit high, but the course is in a very popular location so I dont see that changing any time soon.

The golf course was in better shape than I expected for this time of year. The fairways were in great shape plus the green rye grass made them look plush. The greens were also nice sometimes too nice for my shots. Lol I would certainly recommend the golf course and I will return there again. The course has a unique, fun and challenging layout. It is one of my favorite courses in DFW. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the GPS system on the carts because it did not work for my groups so don’t pay the extra $5 for it and use that money to purchase the great jalapeno sausage at the food shack on the course.

Played 04.01.2009 (first time). Despite the good reviews, I really did not expect much from this course; I was pleasantly surprised. The scenery was excellent and design was very nice. The wind today was 20-30mph, which made the course a lot more challenging than it would normally have played, but overall, the course offers some nice challenges. It is definitely a placement course--if you can place the drive off the tee (often with an iron or fairway wood, even from the tips), you can score very well. If you cannot hit fairways or put your approach shot in the proper place on the greens, you will have a long day. My only maintenance complaints today were that the bunkers were in rough shape (but that was due to a recent rain, and maintenance crews were working on them) and the green were quite bumpy due to dozens of unhealed cup placements. I don't know if the latter is due to poor greens-keeping or a lack of proper winter maintenance. I am guessing that the greens later in the spring. Overall, a must-play course in the DFW area.

I had my best score ever on this course and i loved it. it was a lot of fun even thought the abundant water hazards are slightly overwhelming to an amateur golfer.

The best course I've ever played.

Play Monday through Thursday and save a lot of money if played after 2 PM. The hadicaps listed are not believable from my perspective. The water on the course plays with your head, so if you are want the psychological challenge, knock yourself out. A truly fun course!

This golf course is a bit of a challenge to the higher handicappers, mostly due to the challenging greens & pin placements. The creeks that run through the course can really make you think about your shot and club selection. That aside, it is a beautiful course. I played on 31 Dec 2007, and the tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all...well, GREEN. That is not quite the "norm" for most DFW area courses this time of year. The course is maintained very well, and even though the weather was not perfect (cold & windy), the cart girl kept making her rounds!

I would have to take away on the amentities rating some, as the kitchen was closed by about 330pm, and there were no sandwiches available on the cart. Also, the course layout doesn't take you near the clubhouse at the turn, so if you need a toilet break, you must drive quite a ways. There is one snackbar/restroom buliding out on the course, which you hit after the 6th and 15th holes, if I recall correctly. Lesson learned - don't drink too much or you will be looking for a private place for relief!

Overall, this is a very nice course. As mentioned in a previous review, their online specials are good and bring the rates almost down to muni-level costs. This course is a must-play!

WOW!

This course was top notch. The fairways were groomed perfectly. A ton of scenery on almost every hole. The greens were in perfect shape and played VERY fast. Water comes into play on 13 of the 18 holes. The most challenging course I've played yet. With the online coupons the value couldn't be beat!

You can not get a better golf value of a Arnold Palmer design golf course for the price. "Look dudes," this club was build in 1987, when Palmer was the richest sportsman in the world. He out did himself on this course to bring out the PGA pros of his time i.e. Mr. Hogan, Mr.Nelson, Mr. Trevino and Mr. January all these men where located in the DFW area. Wow, what a golf course. All of these golfers did not even attemp to build such a fantastic golf track for the people of Texas.
