$31 for a weekend rate when all other courses around are $50 is value enough to try this place out. I did and was pleasantly surprised. There was only one person working the pro shop and grill, so he was pretty busy. But once he got to me he was a very pleasant person to speak to. Showed me where to start, where the carts are, everything.

The course itself isn't much to speak of. The fairways are okay but definitely municipal quality. The greens don't look like much at first glance...but they are actually maintained pretty well. No bare spots and you get true rolls on each one of them.

There is just enough difficulty in carrying water and other hazards to make it challenging yet retain the fun factor. The first 3 holes are great warmup holes...not too difficult. It's interesting to have 3 par 3's and 3 par 5's....nice kind of change of pace.

Overall if you're in this area this is a great value. Don't expect a country club level course but if you're looking for good course and good value this place will delight.

Good public course. Greens could use a little love, but it is mid winter. I'll be anxious to see how it greens up this summer. Good value for the price, just nothing fancy.

The one positive thing that I can say about Pinetuck Golf Course is that it is cheap compared with other public courses in the area.

On the downside, the pro shop has an odor that seems like a combination of an ashtray and a sweaty locker room. Well, no big deal because we're going to be out on the course anyway, right?

Well, the course is far from well-maintained. We were warned that the greens are fast. That may be the case if they aren't waterlogged. We played at 3:00 in the afternoon on a dry day, and several of the greens were saturated. There were actually muddy areas on a few of the greens because the water had been standing there so long.

Some other noticeable neglected areas were that most of the sand traps did not have any sand at all. The tee boxes were completely hacked up without sand in the divots. Tee boxes, greens, and the rough areas were littered with beer cans and cigarette butts. Our golf cart sounded like it was going to fall apart, and made me wonder if it would last through the entire round.

The overall course design is fairly nice, but the complete neglect of the course will keep me from ever playing there again. I would rather pay the higher price to play a well maintained course. I have played nicer courses for half the money. I will never play Pinetuck again.
