Played Golden Hills Golf Club in Lexington SC, on June 6, 2011.

Greens had bare spots all over them, some greens had very sparse coverage. Teeboxes were not level, some bare. Cart paths were in terrible shape. Made the turn, and the proshop staff had let a onesome walking start in front of us. No rangers on course, so we had to deal with people fishing and riding bikes on the course.

Would not recommend playing this course.

I was here on business from TN. The course was in terrible condition. Essentially no grass in the fairways and the greens were pretty sad as well. I was looking for 9 holes to end the day but was very dissapointed here. Charging $27 for 9 when the course is in this condition is not right. Our courses in TN are in much better condition this early in the season. Do not plan to play here again.

Nice Country Club Course w/o the Stuffy Country Club Members

This is a relatively short course from the tips that rewards good course management and good short iron play. Though it’s short, none of the par 4s are reachable with the driver and only 1 of the par 5s is an automatic eagle opportunity for the bombers.

Most of the fairways are moderately tight and usually guarded by OB stakes, thick woods, streams and/or houses. The fairways have a lot of undulation and several greens are designed to make better players shape their shots for scoring opportunities. Aggressive players who do not execute are usually penalized.

Good course management and conservative club selection should allow you to shoot better than your handicap.
