Many years ago this was a enjoyable course to play, but lately the greens are in terrible shapes. The staff professionalism leaves a lot to be desired. The worst services is in the Sand Trap Lounge. Slow services, bad attitudes along with bad foods. The manager should take a course in retailing 101.
Drive the extra distance and go to Heritage Hills Golf or Springwood Golf Club.

A good layout but the greens are always slow and often bumpy.

mostly tree-line course. spray hitters should avoid this course. relatively narrow fairways, and roughs are usually high; course was in good condition, especially the greens. front 9 is easier than back. I recommend some changes:two-tiered par 3 no. 14 , which is a 9 or pitching wedge simulates miniture golf putting. why not remove the large slope bisecting the green. no. 17 is a short par 5 requiring an expert long draw in order to reach the green in 2. Overhanging trees on the left and trees lining the right, where your tee shot would pass if you aim towards the right side. Some of the overhanging trees could be scalped, as they are too inhibiting from the back tee box. no. 12 should be turned into a par 5, or you can play it that way from the blues. The creek is 190 yards, daring the golfer to carry it for a chance to be dancing in two. The staff was quite accomodating and friendly. As a walker, I don't like the equal walk/ride price, because walking saves the course and the wear on their carts. I play this less frequently as a result. a fine test of golf.

A Tale of Two Nines

I've been playing this course since 1960. The striking difference between the front and back nines keeps it fresh and makes for a fun round of golf. the front nine is fairly flat and fairly open, but there are sufficient trees and length to make it interesting. The back nine introduces enough water and hazards to make it interesting. The 13th in particular is a great hole requiring a long, well placed tee shot and a long approach to the green which, by itself, is a true challange for any golfer, especially if you find yourself above the hole.
The staff is friendly and helpful and the 19th hole a refreshing spot to talk about all the "20 footers" you made on the greens.
A course to enjoy year after year.
