Played this course today and found it in good shape. The fairways and tee boxes were a little too long.

Nice course with excellent kept greens. Great value to play even during weekends. I find myself making excuses just to go back and keep playing it.

I am not sure why there are complaints about #17. It is a 160-165 yard shot to the middle of the dogleg--usually a middle iron for most men--then another middle iron (or less) to the green. It is a beautiful and unusual hole as it twists through a small gully. Even the green is beautiful with a stream on both sides, but nothing in front except a verdant approach.

The course is moderately easy and rather pretty. The front nine is up and down--number 5 penalizes tee shots that stray in either direction and 8 gives you an interesing water carry from a fairly steep downhill lie. (I hit a good drive today, but took a 5W/2I hybrid over the water since I was not certain I could get the loft I needed.) But otherwise, these are just everyday golf holes as you would expect them. You can pick up strokes on the back nine with the short par threes. Do not go right on #ten unless you have a chainsaw with you. 12 is an excellent hole that rewards an accurate drive but does not penalize (too much) an errant drive. 15 is too tough to be a par 3 for most people and is the one unfair hole on the course--I can drive it, but I doubt that a whole lot of people can. #16 is greatthere is a gully slicing across it diagonally. Short hitters can go right and then hit something long to the forgiving side of the green. Long hitters can go left and go right at the flag knowing that, unless they try to hit too cute a shot, the worst they will have is a dreadful downhill putt. #16 is what a golf hole should be all about. All types of players can score on this hole as it requires thought instead of just conceding that the hole will be easiest for the person who bangs it the furtherest. In fact, too far a drive down the left and the player will be happy just to get back to the fairway. I guess it is obvious that I think the back 9 is the better nine, but that does not mean that the front 9 is a weak nine--it just offers less variety and rewards big hitters a little too much for my taste (and I probably average around 270 on my drives.)

Hey Valerie, break out the check book and buy some sand for heaven's sake and clean out the weeds around the traps!!!
No wonder the parking lot isn't full any more.

It's a shame. This course has a lot of potential. It appears that the minimum investment is put into the course, though. The fairways aren't defined with rough, the pond water smells terrible, and worst of all are the sand traps. The one exception are the greens which are always in good shape it seems.

The area is nice, the course is challenging... it just needs some investment.
