This use to be one of the best maintained public courses in western PA - not anymore. The condition of both the Red and Gold courses are Horrible! There are greens on the Gold course that are unplayable - 60% of the green just a dead muddy mess. Many fairways the same way. Worst is that it has been this way for over a year! I played course early last year and it was in the same condition. With 2 courses you would think they would close 9 holes at a time for repairs until they get things under control - not at this place. My organization was going to have an outing at Cedarbrook later this year, but after playing it today I will make sure we cancel and move to another course. I would be ashamed to ask people to pay $75 to attend an outing given the conditions at this place. To top it all off - every time I go to Cedarbrook the cart attendants are rude! A bunch of crabby old men that seem bothered by the customers who come out and pay good money to play this goat track. STAY AWAY from Cedarbrook!

Cedarbrook has 2 18 hole courses. The Red course is the Shorter and easier course. This course is great for golfers from 10+ handicappers. Some very well placed hazards. The maintenance staff do a good job maintaining this course. Alot of big outings held here. The one part of the course they could spend more time on is the bunkers, they are hard sand most of the time with big water groves through them. They have a nice club house and pro shop, also a practice range several practice putting greens. and GPS on all of there carts. If your looking for an difficult round try the Gold course.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Cedarbrook Red Golf Club; from its wide, well manicured fairways, to its undulating and quick greens. Cedarbrook also has a fantastic and informative website in case you're like me and like to study a course before you play it. Also their Gold course is just as enjoyable. It is more secluded and woody and slightly more challenging, but I look forward to playing them both again soon.

Although I still give CedarBrook 4 stars I am still mad they decided to dismantle the old 18 hole layout they used to have years ago in lieu of the 36 holes they now have. Many of the "new" holes are nice and challenging but every time I go it still seems to me they tried to squeeze too many golf holes into too little space. I guess its a matter of taste. Would you rather have one 5 star course or two 4 star courses? So I guess it is not that bad and I surely would not go there and would actually prefer CedarBrook over most other public courses. The 2 courses themselves are lush and the CedarBrook standard of excellence is intact. Greens are true and well maintained and the courses are always in top notch condition despite getting a lot of play. The place is constantly expanding and improving but I so miss the old layout.
