The first thing I'll tell you about Bear's Best, don't come if you don't want a challenge. The course is gorgeous and always in tour shape. You'll play along side some of the largest homes in the Vegas Valley with unbelievable views of the Strip.
I believe the going rate was $275 for visitors, but a course you'll want to play at least once (like Reflection Bay, Shadow Creek, Cascata and Wynn). It's pricey but what Vegas course isn't these days? Water only comes in to play on 1 and 18, but a unique course with holes re-created from Nicklaus courses west of the Mississippi (including holes from Cabo, Montana and Palm Springs).
I took my 68 year old stepdad out to play and I played with him from the white tees. Lots of elevation changes and maybe a little less fun for him. He's about a 16 and I think he shot around 95+, didn't help when the wind went from calm to 30+ between the 15th green and 16th tee. I would play every month given the chance. One of Vegas' finest.

I thought Bear's Best was a very tough course, but that could have also been effected by the high winds that were in play for most of our round. The clubhouse is nice, but the cutbacks they've made in the last couple of years (No Caddy Program being the most notable) makes this a much tougher round for the high handicapper, like myself. It was nice to play, but if given a choice, I'd rather play elsewhere.

Very hard but very worth it. Play it at least once if you get the chance.
