The 9-hole "Founders 9" course at the Black Mountain Golf & Country Club facility in Henderson, Nevada features 3,309 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 37. The course rating is 35.7 and it has a slope rating of 129 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Bob E. Baldock, the Founders 9 golf course opened in 1959. Dan Dombrowski manages the course as the General Manager.

Oh my. Six and half hours to play 18 holes. WAY, WAY too many golfers on this course. I do have to admit, this is the nicest I have ever seen Black Mountain, but I won't play again any time soon. Course management is awful. Four groups waiting at a tee box is terrible.

I had a round of golf at this place this week based on their claim on the website that "September 2008 marks the completion of our over $2,000,000 renovation - the Black Mountain courses have never looked or played better." All I can say about this place is that "I will not go near it again." Saving a few dollars on the green fee is totally not worth it. The $2M renovation? I can not find anything at all.

Not the best golf experience

Your tee time doesn't mean much. Community members walk on anytime. The starter or rangers don't manage the course. The course was in horrible condition when I was there (early March.) Not as good a value as the muny, or as pretty a course.
