Course Reviews

A complete disaster!! This course is complete crap!! It used to be really nice, but they stopped putting any money into it. Save your $55.00 and play somewhere else. This is a cow pasture!

Today I played golf at Wedgewood Country Club in Turnersville NJ. We booked our tee time based on an advertised rate on the Wedgewood CC website of $40. When arriving at the club, the manager insisted that the advertised rate would not be honored and charged each member of the group $59.00.The manager claimed that these were the owners instructions.

This type of bait and switch advertising is not legal, and should not be tolerated by the surrounding community. This type of fraud gives all small businesses a bad name.

I played Wedgewood last year without writing a review and played it once again yesterday. I can honestly say the course conditions have improved dramatically. The fairways don't have nearly as many bald spots as it did ESPECIALLY on the back nine. There are actual fairways now. So the maintainance was generally pretty good. The course itself is decent. The front nine is pretty boring, barring hole 3, wide wide open with little excitement. If you only have one ball left to your name come and play the front only without fear of losing it. The back nine is what makes the course worthwhile though. It's tight, tree lined, and has some nice holes. Generally the challenge of Wedgewood comes from the distance and keeping it straight on the back. There aren't too many really unique holes, but the layout is pretty good and the course fun to play mainly because of the back 9. I've never seen a course with such contrast between the front and the back going from really boring to a lot of fun as Wedgewood offers. The price of $24 to walk weekday twilight isn't a bad deal and the staff in ridiculously friendly. The greens are fair and roll true and play to an average to slightly fast speed. They have logo balls for the collector like myself, another plus. I'd reccommend giving this place a shot at least one time, maybe not much more, but it's worth going here at least once. Overall rating B+.

This course is in very good condition with bent grass from tee to green. It's long and tight with an excellent layout. It's challenging and a true test for better golfers. It is an upscale course at an affordable rate.

Bottom line: this course is not at all a "country club" course.

Although we are used to playing our nice courses for relatively cheap prices in Delaware, we decided to hit this course while we were in NJ. Bad move.

First of all, when I pay over $50 to play a round of golf at 4pm on a weekday, I expect a very nice course AND a nice cart to ride around in. This course provided niether. The course was in mediocre shape at best - bare spots, matted grass, bald greens, etc. There were no paved cart paths! What is that?! For an expensive country club course? There's no excuse.

It was a decent layout - I was happy with an 83. But the layout was overshadowed by the conditions.

Even the cart was lousy. We were breathing gas fumes the whole time. Then it started to rain and we put the hood over the bags. The entire inside of the hood was completely moldy. It was disgusting!

To sum it up - save your money. Find some other course that is worth the money. I will stay on Delmarva from now on - much better courses in Delaware!

I love the layout of this course. The staff is friendly.Yes it's tight, but it makes you use every club in the bag and think about every shot you take.I love the back nine better than the front, especially the 12th hole, becarefull crossing the lake, make sure you go one club up when making your decision.

Wedgwood is a very long course with some tight holes surrounded by trees. The par 5's on the back are very challenging, especially 17. If you play from the Blue or the Tips this course is extremely tough and will beat you up if you don't get off the tee well. The rough isn't in the best shape but its still decent. The fairways and greens are usually in good shape. This course always seems to have issues with tee times on Sunday mornings (i suspect the same for Saturday mornings as well) It seems like they are always running at least 30-45 minutes behind. I don't know if they are booking tee times too close together for the members or that there are really a lot of slow moving people, but they are always running late on the weekends. The have good food in the bar and usually have an outside grill running on weekends. The price for greens fees and rounds are fair.

Lose your concentration for one minute and the back nine will kick your @$!*%.
