I was knocked out by the beauty of this public course. Every hole is a new and fun challenge, the staff is very friendly and the only thing lacking is something negative to say about this course.

Great course. First five holes are up in the mountain and if you hit it 5 yards off the fairway its rolling all the way down. The next 13 holes flatten out. Course is in decent shape and the scenery is beautiful. Itt is also very challenging. Im a decent 13 year old golfer and i shot a 93

Highly over-rated imho. Picturesque- Yes.. Nice greens - Yes.., Service - Good.. Very tight and penalty laden if you're a few yards off the fairway - YES.. Played in mid Sept '11, the fairways were bare in spots and very little grass in many areas. If you don't hit the ball straight, you better bring a dozen.

Course was unreal. Worth the drive from Staten Island. Everyone from the starter to the rangers were very helpful. Fairways were in outstanding shape (like greens in city courses) and greens were like glass. Awesome!!!!

Berkshire is a great course, your game will be tested with some very unique holes especially on the mountain, in my opinion its a 5 star county course

This course is the best public course in Jersey. This course is superbly maintained, greens are very true, and the staff is great. The course itself is challenging and fun to play! The first 5 holes play along side the mountain, so DON"T GO LEFT! After that, you'll find ample amount of room off the tee. The best view is from the 1st and 2nd tee box. It overlooks the entire course.

What a great course! Top notch maintenance, a courteous staff, beautiful views, and challenging and fun holes. The turn is set away from the clubhouse, so make sure you're prepared to go 18 without a break; and although you're allowed to walk - the layout is pretty wide, riding is a smart option!

Nice course, well maintained, nice staff and rangers. The snackbar is limited and the AC is broken in the sit down snack area. The views are fabulous and the holes are challenging.

Easily one of the best public courses in New Jersey. Has a "Private Country Club" feel

Very unusual layout for a public course. Beautiful views on the opening holes. Not a long course, but great variety and makes use of all your clubs. The clubhouse porch has a wonderful overview of the entire course, a wonderful place to relax after a round. Very well maintained with good service.

Great Scenery

Great scenery at this course with the first 5 holes cut out of a mountain...the toughest hole in my opinion is probably #3 a par 5 on the cliff with a narrow fairway and tough green...i almost always en up dropping on this hole sooner or later

Great Morris County Course

This is easily my favorite public course in Northern NJ...I play this several times a month now for 3 years and will continue.

It's a county run course but is really well maintained (as are all the Morris County Parks courses) and you can't beat the price to play (especially in the afternoon). It's relatively easy to get out(walk ons are almost always sent out within 15 minutes).

The 1st five holes are cut into the side of a mountain with narrow fairways, cliffs and prevailing winds but I think they're fun to play and are fair. The views from 1 and 2 are really awesome as you can look out over the mountains or down onto holes 6-18.

The course is challenging thruout but very fair for everyone...I shoot in the low-mid 90s and play with better and worse golfers and most seem to really enjoy the layout.

Awesome Test

I've played this course since the day it opened. Like fine wine it gets better with age, both aestetically and as a challenge. Whatever tee you decide to play from it is a test of your golf skill. Most challenging hole on the course is definetly the par 4 13th. With a solid drive you will still have a long iron into a three tired green perched on a hill side. The signature 18th is a great home hole which offers a generous fairway but then stings you with an uphill second into a very difficult green. The pin placement on 18 can make a two club difference. The thing none of the staff will mention to you is the wind factor. Some days the first five holes can be dead into the wind and play twice as hard as the day before. Not to mention the first five holes are a mile and a half long and all are perched on the ridge above the valley. hit it off the fairway 20 yards on either side and you are "out of bounds". What a way to come out of the gate.
With the views of the valley and the surrounding hills, it is also a peacfull getaway from the normal hustle bustle that is not a long distance away. It is a must play in New Jersey. It could be best daily fee course to be opened in north jersey in the last 15 years.
Get out and see it and take the challenge for yourself you won't be disappointed, but you might be frustrated by it.
