Course is really nice, well kept, beer cart girl was awesome, even tracked me down to return my pw I left back at a hole. The guy at the front desk was kind of an @$!*%, rude and acted like we weren't good enough to be on "his course" but other than that it was a great place to play.

Not sure what some these other golfers are talking about....this place is great! Their greens are always in terrific shape, despite any severe weather conditions. They are also Audubon Internationally Certified, which makes their fantastic course conditions even more impressive. The pace of play for a busy Saturday was under 4 1/2 hours, which is phenomenal for a public course in Southern NH! The golf course now offers four set of tees, with Tee It Forward tee box locations, and a Black Tee Box that is over 6500 yards! It's the perfect combination of challenging and forgiving. We loved the scenery, with all the beautiful, well-kept gardens, and the Souhegan River wandering throughout the course. We stayed for a bite to eat, and the food was delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend.

Nice course, not too challenging but tee boxes have gone downhill and course gardens arent being maintained. The clubhouse restaurant is a big disappointment. They could do much better business if there was a good 19th hole. Too bad.

A nice little country track. Challenging enough to hold your intrest and tough enough to bite you if you take it for granted. A little more work and it could be a lot better than nice.

Of the courses in the area, Amherst CC is the best kept course. It is a fairly forgiving course except for the undulating greens which present a true challenge for even the best player. The staff are very friendly and helpful (no nasty starters or rangers). Pace of play is apparently very important and they do a great job of keeping people moving around the course. All in all, this course is giving you the biggest bang for your buck.

Nice course in need of some TLC

The good: I have been playing at Amherst CC for the past 6 years, it's a nice track, wide open on the front, and a bit tighter on the back. The doglegs make it a bit more challenging then you might think and the greens are forgiving and well kept. The elevated green on the par 5 second hole is a lot of fun to play, and all the par 3's are short with small undulating greens. The clubhouse is great, nice little bar with decent bar food. The Pro Shop is well stocked and the prices are competitive. They offer a nice twilight rate in the summer which is great, but they should offer this on Fridays too!
Now for the bad: The tee boxes are in really bad shape, they need to be re-sodded big time, they are very uneven and are filled with patches of dirt and grass. The sand traps need some love too, they have become hard packed and can be very thick and muddy when it rains. The men's locker could use some upgrading, there are only two showers, of which one is always pumping out cold water... ouch, there are no lockers and no bench's, which I must say is annoying when you are trying to change.
Overall: I rated this slightly above average but with a few minor improvements it could become top notch.
