Been going there for last 7 yrs. Like the staff and the course. I am a senior golfer and almost always in a good mood, referring to a prior review! Rudeness personified! I certainly will enjoy it more knowing that tight @$!*% won't be returning! They are always working to improve the conditions but the course is very playable and fun too.The harsh winters haven't been kind to any course in this area the past couple years.Buckmeadow rebounded nicely this year.

I have been playing at this golf course for several years and up until recently my overall my experience has been positive. It lacks amentities and is not always challenging, so it is definitely a course for beginners. However, this summer I have had several bad experiences with the rude man who works at the front desk. His demeanor is condescending and he has a nasty way of treating paying customers by yelling at them. This is a course for old people, and most of them are in a bad mood when they are playing or too impatient to observe golf etiquette. They book people closely together and then it gets too congested while playing. While it is a good value, it is not worth the aggravation of dealing with rude staff and golfers.

You can't beat it for the money! $14 for 9 holes!

The Good: I have been playing here for years, it's a short course that demands good precise iron play. You can easily play 9 holes in an hour and a half. There are 4 challenging doglegs, 3 holes where you can pull out the driver and 3 nice par three's. With all the other courses in the area, "The Buck" is never overly crowded which is nice. The tee boxes are in pretty good shape, they could use some re-leveling but overall not bad. The fairways are always well maintained as are the rough area's.
The Bad: Be prepared to bring cash as this course does not take credit cards. Also there is no locker room so change in your car or before you get there. The greens on this course for the most part are in good shape as far as the grass and the fringe are concerned. They do however have a bit of an ant problem and many of the greens have ant hole mounds scattered about them. It's been this way for a long time, I'm not quite sure why they don't spray them. The few sand traps that they do have, need some TLC, but they are pretty hard to get into anyway so not that big a deal
Overall: It's a fun course to play for short money, and a great course to practice your short target golf game!
