Greens were bad and the course is a mud pit. The routing sucks and the design is really bad....... go to Charlotte National or Larkhaven.

This course is decent, havnt played in awhile because they are outrageous on their price for a round...itll cost you $55 to %70 and that is just way too much.. The course is ok but just not worth the money.. it should play for $35-45 a round... go over to Charlotte National or the Divide instead of here

Good course to play

Reviewed July 20, 2008

I've played this course several times. The people at the front desk are friendly, the bathrooms and changing rooms are clean, the snack bar prices are like most but fair. Does have a driving range to warm up before teeing "Always recommend hitting a few balls before starting". The greens are in fairly good shape. Some challenging holes. I would recommend this coarse to anyone that wants to hang out and play a round with your friends.

My wife and I played on Saturday the 21st of June 2008 and had an 8:09 am tee time. We teed off at 8:00 behind a twosome, one of which was a beginning golfer. We tried very hard to be patient, but the beginner tried and missed the ball time after time as the other gave lessons. They had no understanding of golf etiquette and often stood on the greens talking and teaching. At the fifth hole after waiting at least four to five minutes every single time we took a shot I called the pro shop from my cell phone and asked them to please send a marshal out to speed up play. They said they would but did not. We suffered through nine holes and after two hours and ten minutes (keep in mind a twosome following a twosome with nobody in front of them took two hours and ten minutes) we had enough. We asked the pro shop to refund our money because we did not plan to return to Emerald Lakes since this first experience was enough. The best they would do is to give us a rain check and said that was generous given that we played nine holes. I said I did not want to come back and did not agree that they were doing the right thing since I called the pro shop from the fifth hole and asked them to send a marshal and they did nothing. The general manager, Matt, said our pace of play was as expected and therefore he was not giving us our money back. If pace of play of two hours and ten minutes for a twosome playing behind a twosome is the correct pace of play then I think they have got it wrong. I will not throw $118.00 rain check away and will play the course once more, but it will be my last. I liked the course, the conditions were good, but the customer service is all wrong. There are plenty of golf courses in the greater Charlotte area that work to make golf a good experience; from my experience this is not one of them.
