I rediscovered my mojo at this course. The course rewards shot-making, plain and simple. You take the chance, you get the reward. Plays slow on weekends after 6. But a beautiful layout and the greens are consistent for the most part.

Crooked Creek is a visually arresting and challenging track, emphasizing shot shaping and a thoughtful approach to the game.

On the upside:
- The course is physically gorgeous, with significant changes in elevation on the back 9 and trees lining almost every fairway
- The steep hillsides, multiple water hazards, omnipresent turtles, and the hawk on the back 9 add real character and enhance the experience
- The fairways are in great shape, and the greens are as clean and tight as any I have played; Robert Coiley and his grounds crew do excellent work
- The holes are neither vanilla nor brutally long, with only one truly straight layout to be found among the 13 par 4’s/5’s
- The staff is very friendly; Karl and Joellyn are especially welcoming
- The prices are competitive with other local tracks, and you can usually find online specials

On the downside:
- On weekends the course can play very slowly due to volume
- Some holes are not simple to eyeball your first time out: scout out distances to safe landing zones on holes 3, 4, 8, 9, 12, and 13 before hitting

Overall, this is my favorite course in the Raleigh area. While not requiring you to play target golf, your ability to play holes backwards and identify safe landing areas will be the key to your scoring. Enjoy!

This course penalizes you when u shoot in the rough because its extremely long. The greens are in bad shape and are EXTREMELY slow.. you are going to lose a lot of strokes on the greens.. if you are not a member, it is not worth the value

Pricey to play if not a member. Nice course I played during the week and was not crowded at all. Very spread out course you will need a cart as some holes are across roads from each other.

A good overall course. Some holes are quite difficult. Course was in pretty good condition. Biggest complaint was that there was a very slow pace of play; however there was a 1.5 hour delay due to frost so I'm not sure if that is normal or not.
