I played this course in 1996 right after it opened, I was a really bad golfer then, I think I shot a 120+ for 18 holes. but being in the Outer Banks the scenery was off the charts. It was a nice place, but expensive being in a tourist area.

Really nice course. Played the Currituck Club on a breezy and seasonably mild December morning. Course was in excellent shape.

The course is located in a development. It has 4 sets of tees ranging from 4,700 yards to 6,900 yards in length. There are many scenic holes here - my favorite stretch were holes 7 through 9 which were close to the Currituck Sound and largely away from houses. Honorable mention to holes 15 through 18 which were also on the Sound.

This course is pricey - although the winter rates are their cheapest. We paid $65 for a round with cart. If you are looking for cheaper golf, try Nags Head or the Carolina Club, both $45 per round with cart this time of year. But play this course at least once -- it is a gem.

Restaurant was more than just your typical golf course food. Lunch was excellent and the staff was friendly.

Recommended play if you are in the area and you have some cash to burn.

Course had just been aerated 1 week before we played. The staff was very upfront about conditions and the course ran a special for $80. This course charges $140 prime time. I'd say it isn't a $140 course but what really is. Great scenery, helpful staff and good conditions make this course a must play when staying in the OBX!

The attitude of the staff here is all over the map: first two days the guys were great. Hooked me a good rate (and we all know the full rate for this tourist trap is stupid during the summer...shocker it's not heavily played during peak season). The last day I played, some fat, redneck jerk behind the counter (with a dip in his mouth, no less) couldn't have been more of an a..hole.
The course is in decent shape, though the tee boxes were torn up.
Obviously, the surrounding environment, particularly the area next to the Sound, is spectacular. My recommendation is to play late in the day, time things so the sun is setting as you approach the 17th or 18th tees. Sublime. Still too damn expensive, though.

Simply's a tourist trap. Green fees were outrageous for an average course. Greens were all really flat and slow. Nothing rememberable about the course except the green fees.

it was awesome

I play here on average 2 times when I go to Corolla every year for a week. Nice course. Greens are always aerated the first week in June and they weren't so good. Some of the staff were a bit gruff but overall, it was a nice experience. Too expensive, though. Monday and Tuesday (June 2 and 3) the front and back nines were aerated and they wanted full rate to play 1 set of nines twice... This is a poor policy on your part, Currituck Club. I would have played here more last week if the full rate wasn't charged for playing 9 holes twice on Monday and Tuesday.

A must play if you just want to say you played all that OBX has. A bit pricy...but its worth it. GPS is a nice touch.

What a great (but expensive) course. Absolutely breathtaking views of the Sound. GPS in the carts. Well-maintained. You should play here at least once during your trip to the Outer Bannks--especially if you are staying in Corolla.
