I recently played nine hols here. It was the first time after double knee replacemnts. The front nine was an easy walk with gorgeous scenery and a few water hazards. The best part though was the optiion to have a llama carry your golf clubs. Yes, a llama; they have a 'saddle' that holds two golf bags. I didn't mind a less than stellar performance due to the knees, but having such a huggable cadday made it enjoyable.

My wife and I drove down from Asheville today to play this course. Lo and behold...they had a rare tournament going on. The owner..(as nice a guy as you would ever hope to meet) told us to be back at 12:30..and he would make sure we would get out! He suggested we visit High Falls about 4-5 miles down the road. We did and it was absolutely spectacular! We were back at 12:30...and as promised...out we went! Its an easy course to walk and I would absolutely recommend walking. It was a beatuful day for golf....sunny and a high in the mid 60's. The holes varied from a lengthy 175 to 180 to a short 85 yards. The greens were in very good shape. The approaches to the greens could have used some mowing...but all in was in pretty good shape. The front nine was pretty wide open. There is some water along the course and a few drainage areas between hole and green. THese usually never come into play. The back nine wanders through the woods..and it is serene and tranquil and what golf is all about. Most of the holes are pretty straight tricks. My wife LOVED the fact they had benches on every hole...trash cans..and the fact the yardages were plainly marked on the tee boxes. There was no one in front of us and no one behind us..and we played at our liesurely pace. We brought a picnic lunch and the owner suggested we drive down the road to Caesar's Head (on rte 236)..and we did and he was right again..the views were amazing. This course is a must play again...and I would recommend it for all level of golfer!

I used to love this course. Always a pleasure. Very beautiful walking par 3. Last time I played, carts had really taken their toll on the condition of the course.
Also only had front 9 open. I will venture back soon, and hope to have a nicer report.
