The course is a par 35, not 36. It is very enjoyable to play. You will not find a better value. I do however miss the driving range.

If you are a student at UMR, and a golfer, you can't miss this value

This rates for students are incredibly reasonable, and the rates are for all-day golf, not just a set number of holes. Difficulty wise, the course itself is average. The holes aren't difficult, the par 5 is long but all the other holes are average. Elevation changes are only significant on a few holes, and only gentle doglegs are present. The greens are slow, but pretty true, only the two-tier green on #6 has tricky breaks on it. The true difficulty of this course lies in the maintenance -- the lack thereof. Now, for the very low prices, this maybe is an unfair complaint, but the rules allow "winter rules" year round because there are patches where the grass is dead/gone. In the fairways, this wouldn't be so bad, but on the greens, this is inexcusable. And, in some places, the greens' grass is patchy and uneven. But, again, for the price, this is all acceptable. The course is mountains of fun; the fairways are wide and only a thin line of trees separate one fairway from the next so even high handicappers who may find themselves on the wrong fairway aren't penalized too severely. This is a course that is not worth going out of your way for, but, if you happen to find yourself in the area or are a student at UMR, this course is a lot of fun for not a lot of money. p.s. If you are thinking about playing this course, best try to get out soon, since the university is considering selling the land to the hospital across the street. The course is probably safe for a few years yet, but if you have any interest in golf, this is a great course to figure out if this game is fun for you or not. If you decide golf isn't for you, you haven't spent a lot of money. And, if you decide golf is for you, this is a very inexpensive practice and actual on-course experience.
