I would like to start off by offering my recommendations for everyone to play this golf course. It is short and hilly, but does present a challenge. I would call it the hardest course under 6000 yds around. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and made the round very fun, except for that one old guy behind the counter.

Where to begin... First off the post from July 2010 is the most accurate depiction of how my first/last round ever at this course was. I have never had a "bad day" on the course until today, I may have been able to get passed the sub-par quality of the course had it not been for the atrocious staff beginning with the RUDE lady that attempted to take my money this morning but had some issues splitting $200 in 1/2. Lucky for me she found a calculator and we were on our way 10 min later... NO JOKE. Then it was the beverage cart, well actually I have no complaints for beverage cart because we never encountered it in 18 holes... Good thing they had water on the course, wait I brought my own... Now for pace of play, for never playing the course before and not seeing anyone behind me for the front 9 I thought I was doing just fine and well on pace for the recommended time. until the "ranger" just began allowing groups off the back 9 behind us, I was nearly struck by a ball on numerous occasions and even had a group of golfers fire a ball over my head and land the green I was chipping onto. I would avoid this course at all costs, even if they offer you money to play I would run the other way. Congrats Elm Creek, this is the first round of golf that has ever made me NOT want to golf again. But hey, at least you guys have that going for you...

Not a bad golf course, was looking real good a few years ago, but has taken a step back as of late. I like the small fast greens. For the space they have I think it's rather challenging.

I recently played Elm Creek and I was very dissapointed. The course itself is just ok there tons of weeds on the fairways, they have very narrow tee boxes, no water at any holes, carts are terrible and barely make it up the many hills the course has. BUT EVEN WORSE, they are horrible at course management and Customer service. I would not recommend wasting the $ 50.00 to play this course, unless you enjoy spending 6 hours waiting in the log jam created by their shotty management

It's a nicely laid out golf course offering a fair test of accuracy and not overly long. Even though a little bit hilly it is ideal for walking. The most difficult aspect of the course are the greens which offer an interesting and undulating challenge. Overall the course is well maintained and a fair value.

I often play elm creek and find the course to be challenging and in good condition. It's not a long course but there's a lot of out of bounds and water hazards. The new green that opened in 2006 makes the par 3 fifth a much better hole. The greens are small and sort of quick for public golf standards. I think it's a nice little course that I play several times a year.

Poor re-design and poor maintenance

I hadn't played this since it was redesigned a few years ago, and I was shocked at the poor maintenance and poor redesign. The fairways were laiden with weeds. There was no water on the course (The ol' "Due to health concerns" excuse, which apparently only applies to some courses and not to others). Some of the newly designed holes were well done, but a few were nonsensical. The number 9, for example, requires you to walk back about 100 yeards to the tee box from the #8 green. The number 5 has two greens!

On top of that, it's become a tough course to walk, which is part of the reason I play.

I took a friend to the course because I had fond memories of a nice course that challenges you with some narrow fairways, but both of us were dsiappointed in its condition and layout. We won't be back.
