Played here August 27, 2013. Great course and well maintained. The wind was blowing hard, making it more difficult. I enjoyed the front nine (Forest) part of the course more than the back. All in all, a great day of golf. Thought that the additional 19th hole was a fun way to end the day.

Nice course, too bad they screwed over all the original investors who dumped many thousands of dollars into the course. I know of multiple families that lost hundreds of thousands of dollars investing in this DUMP!

Really well maintained fairways. True greens but extremely fast. When you are rated high you are priced high but if you want a challenge this is the course. Bugs were bad but when you are in the middle of the woods what is to be expected.

nice course but not a great course.

Earned all the praises given for being a top 10 course in MI.

Located in a good area to play many courses in that part of the state.

Large Greens and larger fairways with a mixture of woods and links style golf.

You are isolated from other groups and holes for almost the entire round.

We did the twilight deal and got 18 holes in easily for only $80.

I could play this course twice in one day, or multiple times in one trip and not get bored with it.

Has a 19th hole par 3.

Flies/ knats – We golfed on a day with no wind 75 degrees, from which the entire course suffers from a knat problem. They buzz around your head and are terrible when trying to golf. Clubhouse or starter should give tips like to wear hats, stay in carts as much as possible and other advice.

The course will be going Private in 2010.

Expensive during prime times.

Easily is one of the best courses in the thumb of Michigan. About only one other course is better, but the price is almost ridiculus. This course is beautiful to look at and wonderful to play. The staff is friendly and helpful. The cart path's are beyond expectations. The greens are excellent and fairways are awsome. You get a feel for why this is so close to a pga course. This is one great course for the price and for you as a golfer to enjoy. So, go out, spend a little and enjoy one of the best priced courses in the lower michigan area.

Forest Dunes Golf Club consistently ranks as a Top 100 golf course in several publications and for good reason. It is easily the Number One best course that few people have heard of. Few courses afford the golfer that country club feel when they walk through the doors. You really feel like you are a member even if you are just playing there for one day.
The course is challenging but rewards good golf shots. The greens are easily PGA tournament caliber. The course is in meticulous condition and is one of few Audubon Gold Standard courses in the world. Not often do you find a course where the grounds team will stop what they are doing to help you search for your ball.
Everything at Forest Dunes is first class from the staff at the Pro Shop including the guys hustling out to the parking lot to grab your clubs to the starter. The food is fantastic and the service is great. Forest Dunes is a must play course. While it seems in the middle of nowhere it is just 10 minutes off of I-75 and 2 ½ hours from Detroit. From top to bottom this is easily among the best golf courses and golf experiences in the country.

This course is ranked in the top 10 in Michigan and deserves it. Now run by Troon. Great layout and conditions. Great service. Most fun if you stay overnight in the lakeside homes. Rates are for unlimited golf when staying on property. We easily played 54 holes on a Friday in August and could have played more if it had not rained late in the afternoon. Definitely worth the drive.
